What you'll do

As a Risk & Controls Data and Reporting Analyst you’ll have an opportunity to make a vital contribution to driving a generative culture of risk awareness and recommend reporting and monitoring solutions to manage risk issues within the businesses. You’ll strengthen the level of ownership within the business, identifying and calling out areas of weakness and sharing best practices.

We’ll look to you to deliver a insightful, actionable analysis of risk profiled to enable focused discussion and decision making by our leadership, as well as supporting the delivery of relevant risk activity to manage our risk and control environment within risk appetite.

Day-to-day, you’ll be:

  • Developing a variety of risk reports to highlight key insight for decision making, including escalating emerging risks in a timely manner, making sure actions are quickly defined and owned
  • Supporting the assessment of all key risks and controls across the appropriate businesses to help manage the risk profile within appetite
  • Building relationships with the business stakeholders from across lines of defence, to ensure risk reporting solutions are fit for purpose

Design and enhance risk intelligence tools, leveraging AI or new technology to help identify systemic risks and predict trends

The skills you'll need

As well as a well-developed understanding of Enterprise Risk Management and Non-Financial Risk concepts, you’ll need knowledge of how to develop effective visual reporting that communicates how risk issues impact a complex financial services business to leadership to enable decision making. Proficiency in data analytics tools such as Excel, Power BI, Tableau, or Python would be advantageous.

On top of this, you’ll bring:

  • Experience of working with AI and datasets to proactively discover emerging risks
  • Analytical skills, with experience in data analysis, reporting and visualisation in a risk, compliance or financial services environment
  • The ability to provide robust oversight and challenge, whilst supporting the business effectively focus on critical risk and control issues through reporting and ensuring efficiency
  • The ability to think creatively when resolving problems and identifying alternatives where established procedures may not exist
  • A proven ability to think strategically, demonstrating thought leadership and the ability to upskill others around you with risk and reporting data visualisation skills
