Job Description

We are seeking an experienced, dynamic and highly motivated risk professional to support the Chief Risk Officer (CRO) and Group Head of Enterprise Risk in changing the way we report on risk, making us future-fit and digitally enabled. As a key part of our expanding global risk function, this role offers an opportunity to gain exposure to all aspects of risk management and contribute to the success of the organisation.


Your Mission:
As our Risk Reporting Senior Manager, you will be responsible for evolving our risk reporting approaches and content, including the implementation of effective automation and integration of AI where appropriate in order to improve efficiency and accuracy.

This critical role is responsible for overseeing the design, development, and delivery of comprehensive risk reporting across Wise. You will play a pivotal role in ensuring that key stakeholders, including the Board and Executive Committees, receive timely, accurate, and insightful information on the Group's risk profile, adherence to risk appetite, and the effectiveness of risk management.

You will drive continuous improvement in our risk reporting capabilities, leveraging data and technology to enhance visibility and support strategic decision-making in a fast-paced, highly regulated environment.


What You'll Be Doing:

  • Evolve and embed risk reporting principles and practices enhancing the Group's overall risk reporting framework and mechanisms, ensuring alignment with Wise's risk strategy, regulatory requirements, and best practices

  • Lead production and delivery of Risk reporting to a high standard and in a timely manner, as well as contributing to external reporting and disclosures through your knowledge and understanding of risk developments at Wise

  • Partner closely with risk teams around the world to cultivate a lean, modular, transparent, and scalable reporting approach that works to escalate from and disseminate to our global Risk colleagues

  • Develop and implement innovative methodologies for defining, measuring, monitoring, aggregating, and reporting on Risk. You'll drive initiatives to streamline and automate risk reporting processes, leveraging risk management systems and data visualisation tools to improve efficiency, accuracy, and scalability

  • Generate insights which go beyond data presentation to provide clear, concise, and actionable insights on the Group's risk exposure, emerging risks, and the effectiveness of controls and mitigation strategies

  • Assist in the development of Risk Appetite Monitoring. Inputting to the development and reporting of metrics against the Group's defined risk appetite thresholds, ensuring that breaches are highlighted alongside remediation actions

     

What You'll Bring:

  • Extensive experience within the financial services, banking, or fintech sector, with a demonstrable track record in a 1st or 2nd Line role involving risk reporting. You are known for your pragmatic approach and ability to drive rapid progress

  • Proven reporting expertise including a track record of designing and delivering impactful risk reports for senior audiences and /or regulators. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate risk and related concepts clearly and concisely to senior audiences

  • Broad risk domain knowledge including a solid understanding of various risk disciplines, including Operational Risk, Financial Risk (Liquidity, Market, Credit), Regulatory Risk, and Financial Crime

  • Exceptional analytical and quantitative skills, with the ability to interpret complex data, identify trends, and draw meaningful conclusions. Meticulous attention to detail and a commitment to data accuracy and integrity

  • Technical Proficiency in the use of GRC platforms, preferably alongside an understanding of business intelligence tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI), or data analysis languages (e.g. SQL, Python)

  • An inquisitive mind and excellent interpersonal skills in order to develop a great understanding of the business, building strong, effective relationships with stakeholders at all levels and maintaining awareness of industry best practice and technical developments

  • Proven experience in agenda planning, meeting coordination, and facilitation, preferably in a fast-paced environment

  • Exceptional organisational skills, with an ability to work effectively under pressure, manage multiple priorities, and meet tight deadlines
