Safety Specialist - 12 Month FTC

We are seeking a dedicated safety professional who consistently acts as a role model for safety in all activities at all times. This role requires ownership and oversight of a comprehensive Safety Plan/Strategy to ensure the safe execution of a 12-month demolition project at our Oakenholt site.

About the Role

You’ll create and lead the Safety Plan to ensure the project is delivered without serious incidents. Working closely with the Contractor, site Safety and Project Teams, you’ll support safe execution and provide day-to-day safety and risk guidance.

As the key link between the site SHE Team and the contract Construction Design and Management Team, you’ll ensure seamless communication and alignment on safety matters.

What You Will Do

Key responsibilities include conducting regular audits and inspections to maintain compliance with the Safety Plan and lead investigations into any project-related incidents or events, ensuring timely closure of all actions. The successful candidate will also lead regular team meetings to review and reinforce safety controls.

Additionally, the role involves managing permitted activities, ensuring all associated documentation is accurately reviewed and stored. There may also be opportunities to support other key safety initiatives or projects across our other UK Professional Hygiene sites.

Who You Are
  • Strong operational Safety background 
  • Demonstratable experience in managing the safety elements within a CDM Project 
  • Working knowledge of CDM Legislation 
  • Extensive experience gained within a Safety Leadership role
  • Ability to create and/or review Risk Assessments and Method Statements 
  • Strong Project Management skills 
  • Highly organised with strong time management 
  • Ability to work autonomously and collaboratively across multiple disciplines 
  • Goal-oriented and solutions-focused, with the ability to influence effectively
  • NEBOSH Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety
  • IT Literate (Experience of using MS Word, Office, Excel etc)
