Sales and Key Account Manager

About the role 

We’re looking for a  Sales and Key Account Manager to join our team, and play a key role in building and maintaining relationships with key clients to drive sales growth and customer satisfaction. They will develop and implement strategies to meet sales targets, conducting market analysis, and negotiate contracts. Collaborating with internal teams, they will ensure that client needs are met while providing exceptional service and support.

The Sales and Key Account Manager will be accountable for tracking and delivering performance metrics and report on account activity to the Commercial Director. They will have line management responsibility for the Junior Sales Executive and Business Development Manager.

Key responsibilities

Sales Strategy Development:

  • Develop and implement sales strategies to meet or exceed sales targets for assigned accounts.
  • Identify new business opportunities and potential clients to expand market presence.
  • Prepare and present proposals, contracts, and pricing strategies to clients.
  • Negotiate terms and close sales while maximising profit margins.

Line Management:

  • Line management responsibility for Junior Sales Executive and Business Development Manager

Account Management:

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients to ensure customer satisfaction and retention.
  • Serve as the main point of contact for key accounts, addressing inquiries and resolving issues promptly.

Client Needs Assessment:

  • Conduct thorough needs assessments with clients to understand their requirements and tailor solutions accordingly.
  • Provide product recommendations based on clients’ needs and market trends.

Collaboration with Internal Teams:

  • Collaborate with marketing, product development, support and implementation teams to ensure alignment in offerings and client servicing.
  • Share client feedback with relevant teams to enhance product offerings and service delivery.

Market Research and Analysis:

  • Monitor market trends, competitive landscape, and industry developments to inform sales strategies.
  • Analyse sales data to identify performance trends and areas for improvement.

Reporting and Forecasting:

  • Prepare regular sales reports, forecasts, and performance analyses for management review.
  • Set sales targets for Junior Sales Executive and Business Development Manager
  • Track key performance indicators (KPIs) and adjust strategies based on sales performance.

              Skills and experience 

              • Proven experience in sales and account management, preferably in a related industry
              • Strong negotiation and communication skills
              • Proficient in CRM solutions
              • Excellent stakeholder management skills
              • Obtains a growth mindset
              • Takes an analytical approach with identifying trends and providing recommendations
              • Experience of working collaboratively and being able to use own initiative when needed
              • Ability to coach team members
