As the Sales Director for Food Service & Local QSR, you will be responsible for developing and executing strong and ambitious sales plans in collaboration with the marketing team in DACH & Benelux region. You will lead the Benelux and the DACH Foodservice teams. And sit in the driver's seat to successfully implement your sales strategies and local plans (where, what & how), while ensuring the achievement of the very ambitious growth agenda. Reporting directly to the Senior Sales Director for Food Service & Local QSR for Continental Europe, you will play a pivotal role in driving significant business growth, developing and engaging your team members, and maintaining strong relationships with clients in the food service industry in both regions.
Reporting to the Sr. Director Food Service & local QSR Continental Europe (CE).
This Role could be based in: Germany (Hannover, Eschborn) or Netherlands (Lewedorp, Lelystad).
Key Responsibilities:
Planning & prioritization

  • Pro-active contribution to scoping the planning & budget/forecast
  • Translate Foodservice CE strategy F30 plan and annual budget plans into country-level execution plans (how and what), including continuous review of Go to Market strategy in your region
  • You think big, set ambitious goals and plan ahead to make them happen
  • You make doing business with McCain easy
  • You drive the digitization of our customer contact strategy in your region
  • Relentlessly prioritizes, creating clarity to move with speed and impact
  • Review objectives quarterly, provide directions to teams to execute and cascading mitigation plans
  • Identify and align resources to achieve plans - local, central and global
  • You take smart but calculated data driven risks, tenaciously innovating and scaling our successes


Business knowledge

  • Ensure deep understanding of market / customer trends and leverage industry peer network to inform strategic decision making
  • Demonstrate comprehensive understanding of financial variables


Customer development

  • Evolving organization to align with customer needs with a customer obsessed mindset
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients, including local QSR chains, restaurants, hotels, catering companies, distributors, and other food service providers.
  • Identify new business opportunities and potential partnerships to expand our market presence and increase (digital) sales opportunities.
  • Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and trade shows to promote products and services and build networks within the food service industry.


Key stakeholder collaboration

  • Recognize when and how to engage other departments in business decisions or selling process
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including Marketing, Supply Chain, Customer Service, Finance, Operations, and Product Development to align sales efforts with overall business objectives.


Driving results

  • Inspire and engage team with vision and clear direction
  • Takes ownership of McCain's success, taking initiative and working across boundaries
  • Conduct regular business reviews to ensure targets are met, resources are allocated
  • Assess performance against objectives
  • Has a breakthrough mentality, immediately developing mitigation plans if headwinds would occur
  • Provide regular reports and updates on sales performance, market insights, and client feedback to the Senior Sales Director.


People development

  • Fosters trust and inclusion by listening first and showing humility

  • Conduct annual performance reviews, talent reviews and career development exercises


Qualifications & Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, Marketing, or related field; MBA preferred.
  • Proven track record of success in sales leadership roles within the food service industry, with a focus on the street market, distributors, key accounts and/or local QSR.
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to analyze market trends and develop effective sales strategies.
  • Results-oriented mindset with a focus on driving revenue growth and achieving targets.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and (Salesforce) CRM software.
  • Knowledge of local regulations and market dynamics within the food service industry is preferred.
  • Project & team management
  • Excellent problem-solving skills
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate others to achieve goals.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to travel within countries and internationally as required on a frequent basis.
  • Excellent oral and written communications skills
  • Proficient in English & German (written and spoken).
