Senior Solution Consultant – Cards Issuing, Europe

Reporting to the Head of Solution Consulting, Cards Issuing Europe, and part of the Corporate and International Banking (CIB) Growth Office, your focus is on providing SME presales support for FIS Cards Issuing Solutions.

You will work closely with the Sales Execs and Sales Management in UK and Europe who are responsible for all business development activities with prospects and existing clients. You will play an integral role in the sales process, utilising in-depth cards issuing solution knowledge to provide business and technical expertise. This will involve uncovering prospect requirements and identifying product functionality gaps to develop, recommend and package the best possible product/solutions and/or services for client prospects through sales presentations and product demonstrations.

As a key member of the Solution Consulting Team, you will personally contribute to achieving FIS Banking Solutions’ sales objectives through solution development, solution validation, deal support, coordination with line of business leaders and product owners, awareness of industry challenges, product knowledge, presales enablement, etc.

The role offers an exciting opportunity to work with major banks, financial institutions, retailers, fintechs and fintech/challenger banks and assist them with their cards issuing solution strategies. FIS is the world’s largest provider of banking, wealth and payments solutions and is investing in the latest technology approaches for digital banking and payments, cloud-based processing and API enabled services. The role will require establishing a strong collaboration and partnership attitude to work with the sales organisation as well as other teams within product management, client engagement, professional services and the cards line of business.

In the role you will:

  • Qualify, support progression of, and help close sales opportunities, utilising SME knowledge of solutions and their capabilities
  • Manage the process to produce Request for Proposal (RFPs) and Requests for Information (RFI) responses; solution definition, content production and sourcing, overall quality control
  • Provide expert solution consultancy to the prospect and internally, and own the individual client solution
  • Collect, analyse and maintain client/prospect requirements and translate/map them into FIS service solutions
  • Identify and prioritise functionality gaps with sales representatives and clients/prospects, initiate process to obtain estimates to address functionality gaps
  • Develop appropriate proposals to meet client/prospect business requirements and identify relevant value propositions
  • Set up and deliver solution presentations/demonstrations to clients/prospects either in person or via web-based tools
  • Provide feedback on client/prospect requirements to FIS product managers
  • Articulate solutions to support cost gathering/pricing
  • Be fully conversant with, and informed of, evolving industry trends in the cards/payments market
  • Interact with vendors and other organisations where appropriate to evaluate third-party vendor opportunities and solutions
  • Determine, resolve and communicate technical and business presales issues to presales management
  • Assist regional business development campaign activities
  • Maintain credibility through best practices knowledge in Sales Enablement space
  • Proactively collaborate to share best practices and knowledge

What you bring

  • 10+ years in a presales and/or solution definition/validation role
  • Good business and technical knowledge of card issuing and processing business in the UK and rest of Europe
  • Detailed knowledge of the typical business requirements that are expected in a cards proposition for debit, credit and prepaid
  • Knowledge of line of credit (unsecured lending, BNPL) propositions
  • Knowledge of competitive positioning and offerings
  • Experience of positioning “as a service” propositions and licensed solutions
  • Experience in sales and presales processes, complex sales management and innovation selling
  • Consulting attitude and experience, in order to be authoritative and convincing in business discussion with clients
  • True passion for delivering best results
  • High level of accountability in a high growth environment
  • Highly effective articulate interaction and communication skills (client-facing, peers and senior management colleagues)
  • Ability to work independently and with cross-functional teams spread across geographies
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills, including teamwork, facilitation and negotiation.
