SAR (Search & Rescue) Captain (AW189)
Bristow Helicopters Limited, are seeking applications for the position of AW189 SAR Captain to work within a close-knit professional team providing Search & Rescue services primarily to British Forces South Atlantic Islands and also the wider Falkland Islands community.

Duties & Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Maintaining familiarity with relevant United Kingdom air legislation and agreed aviation practices and procedures.
- Maintaining familiarity and adherence to such provisions of the Company Operations Manual as are necessary to fulfil his/her function.
- Observation, maintenance and compliance of Company SOP’s
- Plan and brief the crew before each SAR flight.
- Perform SAR Operational Flights in a safe and efficient manner.
- Monitoring the pilot handling, aircraft limitations, aircraft performance, fuel checks, navigation, terrain clearance and overall safe conduct of the flight.
- Maintaining a high personal standard of discipline, conduct and appearance as a representative of the Company.
- Leading by active example, in the development and maintenance of high standards of professional expertise, discipline and morale.
Requirements:
- Valid UK CAA Airline Transport Pilot Licence (Helicopter)
- 2500 hours total time on aircraft
- 1000 hours on multi-engine helicopters
- Previous SAR Command with a minimum of 500 hours on helicopters in the UK SAR role*
- NVIS experience (Essential)
- Valid AW189
*Consideration may be given to candidates without dedicated UK SAR but holding appropriate and equivalent flying experience.
The successful candidate will need to comply with local Immigration Policies, Medical Requirements and Security Clearance Processes to obtain a relevant work permit in the locations the company has operations, if not a resident in the location.
