We’re looking for a Senior Security Engineer to join our Detection & Response team. You will help protect Snap by improving our ability to detect, investigate, and respond to sophisticated threats across endpoints, infrastructure, networks, and cloud environments.
What you’ll do
- Build threat models and improve detection coverage across the environment
- Design logging, detection, and alerting systems
- Build automation and tooling for threat hunting and incident response
- Investigate alerts and support security incident response
- Partner across teams to respond to threats effectively
- Turn threat intelligence and research into practical detection outcomes
What we’re looking for
- Experience in detection and response, incident response, forensics, malware analysis, or threat intelligence
- Strong coding skills in Python and/or Go
- Deep systems knowledge, with expertise in at least two of: macOS, Windows, Linux, Kubernetes, AWS, GCP
- Strong communication, sound judgement, and a collaborative mindset
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in a technical field, or equivalent practical experience
- 6+ years of relevant security experience, or Master’s degree with 5+ years, or PhD with 2+ years
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in threat hunting and detection engineering
- Familiarity with Google Cloud, Google Workspace, and AWS
- Experience working cross-functionally in complex environments
