The Role

We are looking for an experienced UK-based Accounting Manager to join our team in London. Reporting directly to the Controller in the US, this individual will serve as part of our Global Finance team and be responsible for overseeing accounting in EMEA and APAC. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the company’s international growth and help scale the accounting function.

What You'll Do 

The core functions of this role include:

  • Generating timely regional (EMEA & APAC) monthly financial reporting, as well as quarterly/annual statutory accounting information and all supporting reconciliations for review and analysis by the global accounting team
  • Executing payroll across EMEA and APAC via both direct entities and Employers of Record (EORs)
  • Overseeing all regional banking relationships, capital management, credit control, and treasury management
  • Owning Travel and Expense management for EMEA and APAC including the process for review and approval
  • Leading the successful delivery of the company’s regional strategic and operational financial objectives
  • Understanding of vendor contracts and managing accounting and payments in accordance
  • Understanding of customer contracts for revenue recognition
  • Managing regional annual audit process, liaising with advisors on all regulatory and statutory accounts and returns, and all tax compliance, including VAT and GST
  • Supporting the US in the production of management information and financial analysis for use with internal and external stakeholders
  • Partnering with managers cross-functionally to develop strong business awareness and ownership of the financial impacts of their decisions, and support process efficiency improvements

What You'll Bring to Lakeside 

  • Relevant degree (BA/BS in Accounting) and/or equivalent experience
  • Financial professional qualification (CIMA/ACCA/ACA) with 7+ years post-qualification experience
  • Experience in the preparation, review, or audit of financial statements under US GAAP, FRS 102, or IFRS
  • Experience working with NetSuite and well-versed with the Microsoft platform
  • Strong accounting experience in the UK and India
  • Experience with various payroll providers and Employers of Record (EOR) across EMEA
  • Proven operational accounting experience from previous roles within a scale-up, fast-paced, SaaS technology environment
  • Advanced Excel skills and the ability to analyse and interrogate data
  • A focus on quality, automation, and continuous improvement
  • Strong commercial awareness with an appreciation of operational functions, processes, and controls

Additional Details 

  • Location: UK Remote - with a preference for Southern England to be within commutable distance of our central London office. The frequency at which the hire will be required to come onsite is based on their proximity to the office.
