About this role:
Wells Fargo is seeking an experienced FCM Clearing Operations Specialist to support its Futures Commission Merchant business within Corporate & Investment Banking Operations. This role sits within the FCM Operations Clearing team and is responsible for the accurate and timely processing of exchange-traded derivatives activity, including futures, options on futures, interest rate swaps and credit default swaps.
In this position, you will play a key role in supporting daily FCM clearing operations, helping ensure client and firm activity is processed accurately, efficiently and in line with required controls. You will work closely with Client Service, Sales, Fees and Brokerage, Middle Office, traders, external vendors and clients to resolve exceptions, support settlement and contribute to continuous improvement across the clearing function.
The successful candidate will bring strong operational discipline, a good understanding of derivatives clearing workflows, and the ability to analyze detailed information, identify issues and drive resolution in a controlled and timely manner.

In this role, you will:
  • Support daily FCM clearing operations, ensuring activity is processed accurately and within required settlement timelines.
  • Process and oversee key derivative lifecycle events, including clearing, allocations, option expirations, transfers, deliveries, closeout instructions and other non-trade activity.
  • Perform daily reconciliations, investigate breaks and take ownership of exceptions through to resolution.
  • Review, analyze and resolve moderately complex trade, settlement and operational issues requiring in-depth evaluation.
  • Partner with internal teams, clients and external vendors to support effective issue resolution and operational delivery.
  • Apply a strong understanding of operational policies, procedures, controls and compliance requirements.
  • Contribute to process improvement, risk reduction and enhanced straight-through processing across the function.
  • Support team and wider Operations projects, including user acceptance testing and implementation activity.
  • Provide guidance and support to less experienced team members where required.
Required Qualifications:
  • Experience in FCM, cleared derivatives or capital markets operations.
  • Experience working in an Operations team supporting FCM flows, cleared derivatives processing and related business activity.
  • Knowledge of reconciliation platforms and processes, with experience using tools such as Xceptor or IntelliMatch preferred.
Desired Qualifications:
  • Experience using cleared derivatives processing platforms such as FIS GMI, Clearvision or similar systems.
  • Strong understanding of the trade processing lifecycle across futures and options.
  • Experience supporting FCM operations change, project implementation or process improvement initiatives.
  • Working knowledge of CME Group, ICE, LCH, Eurex or other comparable clearinghouse platforms and processes.
  • Experience engaging with Sales, Client Service, clients, traders, Middle Office teams or external vendors.
  • Exposure to commodity position reporting or other regulatory reporting obligations relevant to an FCM business.

  • Interest in using technology, automation or AI-enabled tools to streamline processes and strengthen controls.
Job Expectations:
  • Deliver timely and accurate processing of daily derivative lifecycle events in line with operational controls and deadlines.
  • Support firm-wide and team-specific initiatives, including testing, implementation and post-implementation support.
  • Maintain awareness of industry and regulatory developments that may impact FCM clearing activity.
  • Review and update team procedures to ensure they remain accurate, current and aligned to process and system changes.
  • Identify and recommend improvements that reduce operational risk, improve efficiency and enhance control effectiveness.
  • Support issue management activity, including investigation, escalation, remediation tracking and closure.
  • Perform other responsibilities as assigned in support of the FCM Operations Clearing function.
