The Marketing team at pladis UK is focussed on our key brand portfolios. The Senior Brand Manager - Masterbrand & EDB’s will deliver to the strategy, and will be focussed on our McVities brand portfolios . With a high degree of autonomy and responsibility! 

What will this role achieve?  

  • Responsible for the overall revenue and profit delivery of a brand portfolio 

  • To develop, drive and implement the strategic marketing plan for the portfolio, ensuring short, and long-term financial targets are achieved 

  • As an SBM within the overall Brand team, you will govern the development of the marketing strategy and implementation of key initiatives to ensure business and brand targets and metrics are achieved. 

  • You will be responsible for a key part of the portfolio working alongside the Marketing Manager and other brand team members to ensure that growth targets are achieved and that our brands continue to lead the market and delight consumers and excite retailers. 

  • You will play a significant role in making things happen, in inspiring, persuading, and gaining dedication for projects across different functions and different work levels. The role holder will need to have the confidence to present to Director and UK Exec level on a frequent basis. 

  • Your purpose is to be the brand guardian, with a deep consumer understanding and strong commercial knowledge working cross functionally both internally and externally to deliver outstanding execution. 

  • Working closely with other teams and partners ensuring a focus on business and brand profitability and a growth agenda. 

 

 

 

 

What will be your key deliverables?  

 

  • Be responsible for the development and delivery of brand strategy & plans across the area of responsibility, to meet business sales and profit targets in line with Brand Planning process and pladis UK performance metrics. 

  • Lead the development of the annual brand plan, identify market opportunities for brand growth based on a clear understanding of consumer insight and the competitive landscape. Build a commercially strong brand plan to deliver brand growth and share gain. 

  • Collaborate with manager to define and deliver 3-year strategic plan  

  • Manage part of the brand portfolio, supervising performance, recommending actions and motivating teams and other functions to drive brand performance 

  • Control the delivery of Brand and business performance critical metrics. Have a strong commercial awareness of brand performance and regularly update Marketing Director (and UK&I LT where appropriate) on key issues / successes. Regularly review plan and performance throughout year, taking appropriate remedial action as  

  • Emphasis on using data and insights to drive projects and the development of the brand 

  • Drive key brand projects, working with a cross functional team across the pladis business – be the project lead, this will include innovation execution, design, price / pack architecture. 

  • Provide to the Brand Innovation strategy and the prioritisation & management of planned initiatives, leading specific brand and NPD projects. Working closely with the Innovation team and commercialisation team to drive market leading innovation and outstanding execution 

  • Drive the consumer agenda, working with CMI partners to bring consumer closeness and insight led plan development and activities. 

  • Lead communications development and execution across the brand and management of cross agency team in relation to areas of brand responsibility – with specific focus around gaming. 

  • Control Marketing expenditure within pre-agreed budget and ensure evaluation of all spend on a continuous basis 

  • Control the development of strong coordinated marketing plans, as appropriate across OOH, digital, social media, in-store. Lead cross functional teams to deliver ongoing brand building and sales driving programmes, including in-store activation and new product launches. 

  • Engage and persuade others to gain dedication to key initiatives without reliance on formal authority. Encourage our commercial teams to deliver for the job holder’s respective brand. 

 

 

 

 

What do you need for this role?  

 

Essential 

  • Proficient project manager, good communicator, experience in dealing with comms and design agencies. 

  • Ability to lead and influence partner at all levels of the business. 

  • Marketing experience. 

  • Brands Marketing. 

  • Budget Management. 

  • Market research. 

  • Product Development. 

  • Ability to learn and adapt quickly. 

  • Passionate about growing and building brands. 

  • Determination, entrepreneurialism, ambition and drive. 

  • Strong strategic ability to lead the agenda of some of our biggest brands, ability to define growth strategy & to deliver brand plans with excellent execution 

  • Energy for working with other teams and crafting initiatives that build growth. There is real scope for success with this portfolio and a real focus for business growth over three years. 

  • To be a self-starter, able to work across multiple projects and fields. 

  • Experience of comms & media planning including above and below the line activities IE. TV, Social, Digital, E-commerce, Shopper POS, Sampling. Ability to lead agencies to maximise return on investment. 

  • FMCG experience on brands with a proven record in achieving growth plans. 

  • Experience of cross functional working. 

  • Technical marketing experience 

 

Desirable  

  • Degree in Marketing or Business  

  • Experience in FMCG  

  • Experience in food industry
