Senior Business Analyst – Banking & Payments (Operational Excellence)

Location: London (Hybrid) | Practice Area: Banking & Payments | Type: Permanent

Drive operational excellence across banking and payments through structured, insight-led change.

The Role
Capco is looking for a Senior Business Analyst to join our Banking & Payments practice, with a strong focus on operational excellence and delivery-led transformation. This role is suited to practitioners with deep content knowledge in banking or payments, rather than generalist business analysis experience.

You’ll work with retail banks, challenger banks, and payments organisations to improve operational performance, enhance customer journeys, and modernise processes through technology, data, and platform change. You’ll collaborate closely with business and technology teams to deliver measurable, sustainable outcomes.

What You’ll Do

  • Lead business analysis workstreams focused on operational efficiency and process optimisation

  • Apply deep banking or payments knowledge to shape requirements, solutions, and delivery outcomes

  • Partner with operations, product, technology, and data teams on change initiatives

  • Support system implementation, process redesign, and regulatory-driven change programmes

  • Communicate clear, structured insights and recommendations to stakeholders at all levels

What We’re Looking For

  • Proven Business Analysis experience within Banking or Payments (non-generalist)

  • Strong understanding of banking or payments operating models and end-to-end processes

  • Experience supporting technology implementation, operational change, or process transformation

  • Confidence facilitating workshops and engaging senior stakeholders

  • Experience working across Agile and Waterfall delivery environments using tools such as Jira

Bonus Points For

  • Experience driving operational excellence, cost reduction, or service improvement initiatives

  • Exposure to payments platforms, core banking systems, or digital banking solutions

  • Experience with data-led optimisation, automation, or AI-enabled operational use cases

  • Understanding of UK or global banking and payments regulation

  • Consulting experience within complex, multi-stakeholder environments

Why Join Capco

  • Deliver high-impact transformation across banking and payments organisations

  • Work in a collaborative, flat, and entrepreneurial consulting culture

  • Access continuous learning, training, and industry certifications

  • Be part of a team shaping the future of Banking & Payments

  • Help drive operational and digital transformation across global financial services

We offer a competitive, people-first benefits package designed to support every aspect of your life:

  • Discretionary bonus, competitive pension, health insurance, life insurance and critical illness cover

  • Mental health support including CareFirst, Unmind, Aviva consultations, and trained first aiders

  • Family-friendly policies including enhanced parental leave and paid leave for key life events

  • Holiday flexibility with 5 weeks’ annual leave and the option to buy or sell days

  • Continuous learning with a minimum of 40 hours’ training annually and a Business Coach from Day One
