Help us create a better future, quicker

Our Customer Business provides energy to households and businesses across the UK, delivering positive customer outcomes, strong operational performance and effective financial governance. As a Senior Business Analyst within the Budget, Planning & Process Team, you'll play a key role in supporting the effective financial management of UK Operations.

This is a varied and influential opportunity where you'll work closely with operational teams, Finance, Procurement, budget holders and suppliers to ensure robust governance, accurate financial control and insightful business reporting. By helping the business make informed decisions and continuously improve its processes, you'll contribute to the efficient delivery of services that support ScottishPower's journey towards a cleaner, more sustainable future.

What you'll be doing

You'll take ownership of supplier governance, supplier payments and procurement administration activities across UK Operations, whilst supporting the effective management of operational budgets. Working closely with stakeholders across the business, you'll ensure suppliers are onboarded compliantly, supplier master data is maintained accurately, and purchase orders are raised and managed in line with financial controls, governance requirements and contractual obligations.

A key part of the role involves managing supplier payment governance, resolving invoice queries, supporting suppliers to self-serve through our supplier portal, and ensuring invoices are processed accurately and on time. You'll support procurement activities by administering tender processes, maintaining procurement records and documentation, and coordinating approval activities, while helping budget holders manage spend effectively and maintain appropriate purchase order cover throughout the financial year.

You'll produce meaningful financial, operational and performance reporting, providing leaders with the insight needed to make informed decisions. Using tools such as Excel and Power BI, you'll analyse data, monitor KPIs, identify trends and develop reporting solutions that improve visibility, control and performance.

Alongside this, you'll identify opportunities to improve processes, strengthen controls and enhance operational efficiency. You'll provide day-to-day leadership and support to a small team, helping to ensure key operational, financial and regulatory deadlines are delivered successfully, particularly during critical month-end, year-end and annual planning periods.

What you'll bring

You'll bring strong analytical capability together with experience of working in a financially controlled or operational environment, where accuracy, governance and stakeholder engagement are critical to success.

Ideally, you'll have:

  • A degree in a business, finance, analytical or technical discipline, or equivalent relevant experience
  • Experience in financial governance, supplier payments, procurement administration and/or budget management.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with excellent attention to detail and the ability to translate data into meaningful business insight.
  • Experience developing reports, dashboards and management information using tools such as Power BI and advanced Excel.
  • The confidence to challenge, influence and build effective working relationships with stakeholders, suppliers and colleagues at all levels.
  • The ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver against demanding deadlines during key financial reporting periods.
  • Experience identifying and implementing process improvements that enhance controls, efficiency and business performance.

What's in it for you

As well as a competitive salary which is reviewed annually, you can also enjoy a number of other benefits. With our pension scheme, we'll double match your contribution up to a company contribution of 10%.

At ScottishPower, we believe it's the little things we do in life that make a big difference.
