We're looking for an experienced commercial counsel to join our Commercial Legal team!
You will closely partner with our Sales team to get critical deals done with enterprise customers in the U.S. and Canada. This is a great opportunity to join a growing Commercial Legal team and support key customer transactions for Atlassian.
This is a remote position, in which you will liaise directly with Sales teams and customers based in the United States Pacific, Mountain, and Central time zone. To help our teams work together effectively, this role requires you to be located in the United States Central, Mountain or Pacific time zones.

To support this goal, the baseline of our range is higher than that of the typical market range, but in turn we expect to hire most candidates near this baseline. Base pay within the range is ultimately determined by a candidate's skills, expertise, or experience. In the United States, we have three geographic pay zones. For this role, our current base pay ranges for new hires in each zone are:
Zone A: $195,300 - $254,975
Zone B: $176,400 - $230,300
Zone C: $162,900 - $212,675
This role may also be eligible for benefits, bonuses, commissions, and equity.

In this role, you will:
- Negotiate enterprise cloud agreements for Atlassian's products and services. In doing so, you will partner with Sales and other Atlassians (including in our Privacy, Trust, Finance and Product teams) to drive customer deals to execution.
- Provide pragmatic, business-minded guidance on customer and contract-related issues. We're not looking for academic analysis!
- Develop support materials and provide trainings to educate our Sales teams on contract terms and other legal issues.
- Assist with special projects as needed, including projects focused on scaling legal processes.

On your first day, we'll expect you to have:
- Qualification to practice law in your local jurisdiction.
- Extensive experience negotiating outbound SaaS contracts is a must.
- Ability to handle data protection, cybersecurity and revenue recognition issues in connection with commercial contracts.
- Passion for understanding our customers, products, culture, and business model.
- Excellent business judgment, strong communication skills, and the ability to work flexibly with a variety of teams.
- Willingness to handle new areas of responsibility.
