Client Overview:

Our client is the leading retail chain in Uzbekistan, with about a million regular customers and more than 125 stores in 11 regions. The company operates supermarkets, neighborhood stores, convenience stores, a wholesale store, and an online supermarket. The client also runs two warehouses (dry and temperature-controlled) and a fruits/vegetables hub.

Project Objectives:

The client wants to replace the obsolete DWH solution based on SAP BW and deploy a robust, flexible, and scalable analytical cloud platform based on the cutting edge technology stack. This project will enhance data quality and governance practices and support significant company growth, laying the groundwork for advanced AI/ML solutions.

Responsibilities:

  • Work with stakeholders to understand business requirements and translate them into data analysis and reporting solutions.
  • Gather, analyze, and interpret large datasets to provide insights and recommendations for business decisions.
  • Validate data accuracy and integrity throughout the data migration process from the old warehouse to the new Data Warehouse.
  • Strong collaboration skills to work with Data Engineers to implement data validation and processing scripts.
  • Create comprehensive data validation and quality assurance processes.
  • Collaborate with Data Engineers and DevOps teams to ensure data quality and consistency.
  • Implement best practices for data analysis, including version control and data lineage tracking.
  • Provide ad-hoc analyses and insights to support business initiatives.
  • Document data sources, methodologies, and findings to ensure transparency and replicability.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Proven experience (3+ years) as a Data Analyst or in a similar role.
  • Strong SQL skills and experience with relational databases (e.g.,SAP BW, SQL Server, MySQL, PostgreSQL).
  • Experience with data validation and quality assurance practices.
  • Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python or SQL for data processing and anomaly detection.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.

Nice to Have:

  • Proficiency with data analysis and visualization tools such as Power BI.
  • Experience with Azure services (e.g., Azure Data Factory, Databricks, ADLS, Synapse).
  • Familiarity with ETL processes and data warehousing concepts.
  • Knowledge of AI/ML concepts and their application in data analysis.
  • Previous experience in the retail sector.
