The Senior Data Engineer will lead initiatives to develop scalable data pipelines, support reporting automation, and collaborate on data solutions to drive insights across Block's organization.
Block is one company built from many blocks, all united by the same purpose of economic empowerment. The blocks that form our foundational teams - People, Finance, Counsel, Hardware, Information Security, Platform Infrastructure Engineering, and more - provide support and guidance at the corporate level. They work across business groups and around the globe, spanning time zones and disciplines to develop inclusive People policies, forecast finances, give legal counsel, safeguard systems, nurture new initiatives, and more. Every challenge creates possibilities, and we need different perspectives to see them all. Bring yours to Block.
The Role
The Third Party Response (3PR) team at Block delivers accurate and timely external reporting solutions, fostering trust and transparency with regulators and customers. We do this through reporting automations, building robust data pipelines, and enabling regulatory response owners to self-serve their data needs. Our Engineers own core data strategy and infrastructure, impacting everything from data architecture and modeling to tooling and optimization.
You'll be part of our 3PR Foundations team, which evolved out of unprecedented demand from our external reporting program. With recurring request volume reaching all-time highs, we forged a brand new team with a mission to maximize workflow automation and drive enablement by building new tools and infrastructure. In turn, we can scale and grow the 3PR program to support new products and launches globally.
