JOB TITLE: Senior Data Engineering Analyst

SALARY: £47,790 - £53,100

LOCATION: Edinburgh

HOURS: Full time

WORKING PATTERN: Our work style is hybrid, which involves spending at least two days per week, or 40% of our time, at our Edinburgh location.

We pride ourselves on data driven decision making. Within the Insurance, Pensions, and Investments Division we actively use data to shape the roadmap for future Scottish Widows deliveries, maximising the advantages we have as part of the wider Lloyds Banking Group to create industry leading, best in class, experiences for our customers.

We're looking for a Web Analytics specialist to support our Scottish Widows digital team. The role will be working in our Digital Insights Centre of Expertise supporting all projects in the IP&I division to ensure consistent implementation, data accuracy, and reporting methodologies across our digital estate.

This is an exciting opportunity to work in a team pioneering new analytics processes, prototyping new tools, experimenting with data visualisation techniques, and working to enrich web data with business data. The work is fast paced but highly engaging and rewarding.

What will you be doing with us?

  • Implementing the Tealium tag management solution, and Adobe Analytics, across a range of new and existing websites and mobile apps.

  • Creating reporting dashboards in multiple analytics and visualisation tools.

  • Seeing opportunities for improvement across our digital estate through the use of a range of quantitative and qualitative data sources in order to support conversion rate optimisation efforts.

  • Upskilling colleagues on reporting to encourage data engagement and enable self-service.

  • Supporting multi-disciplinary feature teams with ad-hoc data requests, utilising business knowledge to guide development decisions.

  • Onboarding new 3rd party tooling as required to support business initiatives.

What you’ll need

  • Great problem-solving skills and the creative ability to propose solutions and find opportunities utilising data and visualisations.

  • Excellent stakeholder, presentation, and time management skills.

  • Passionate about self-improvement, always seeking opportunities to continue learning and to pioneer new techniques or tools.

  • Experience implementing and testing tag management for digital journeys.

  • Adobe Analytics or similar web analytics tools experience, including implementation, dashboard creation, and automated and ad-hoc data extraction.

  • Strong data manipulation / visualisation skills in Excel, supported by knowledge of BI tooling, including PowerBI

  • Demonstrable experience working within multi-disciplinary teams, with experience prioritising personal workload across multiple projects.

  • Basic JavaScript knowledge in relation to tagging implementation and debugging.

  • Additionally any previous exposure to these would be useful:

  • Session Replay tools

  • Search Engine Optimisation

  • Live Chat functionality

  • On-Site Surveys

  • Marketing Tech

  • A/B Testing
