Job Description

Rockwell Automation is dedicated to advancing new technologies and focused on providing better solutions for industrial automation. With a strong focus on continuous improvement, you will have the opportunity to work in a high-tech environment where creativity is encouraged and rewarded.

We are part of one of the biggest Rockwell Automation development centers in the world with 500+ software engineers working locally in Katowice Campus, as a part of one global team. We are responsible for architecture and development of flag-ship products including Logix controllers and communication devices used in Allen-Bradley industrial automation solutions such as PLC controllers, ethernet bridges, adapters or functionality of the communication layer.

As an Embedded Software Engineer (Senior), you will join a self-organized and cross-functional team of engineers, reporting directly to Manager and have a hybrid schedule working in Katowice, Poland.

Your Responsibilities:

  • You will develop firmware for multiple Rockwell Automation products.
  • Your responsibilities will include reviewing requirements, preparing and reviewing design documents, programming in C/C++, and analyzing and fixing bugs and issues.

The Essentials - You Will Have:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer/Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related IT degree.
  • Practical software development experience in C++, using software lifecycle development methodologies (software requirements analysis, software design, software testing).
  • Basic networking knowledge and experience.
  • "Can do" and "I'll find out" attitude.

The Preferred - You Might Also Have:

  • 5+ years of practical experience with C/C++ and embedded software development.
  • Practical programming experience in Python or similar languages would be nice.
  • Practical knowledge of embedded security concepts and principles.
  • Experience in programming with use of RTOS.
  • Practical experience in firmware debugging.
  • Knowledge of communication protocols and network device configuration.
  • Experience in Agile software / SAFE development.
