Job Description

Analysis and Coordination of Tool Repairs: Ensuring that our tools were repaired promptly after failures at supplier facilities, which is necessary for minimizing downtime.

Monitor Tool Inventory at Suppliers: Tracking the condition of our tools at suppliers' locations to gather data and plan budgets for replacing tools that were no longer fit for production.

Supplier Collaboration: Work with suppliers to optimize tool performance.

Internal Customer Support: Assisting other teams with analyses and solving quality issues related to plastic parts, contributing to overall product quality improvement.

Supplier Audits: Conduct technical audits of suppliers to ensure compliance with our requirements.

Design for Manufacturing (DFM) Analysis: Performing DFM analyses and evaluating supplier designs to confirm manufacturability.

Support for Designers: Providing feedback to designers to help the creation of components suitable for final production processes.

You will be report to EMEA/AP Team Lead

Your Responsibilities:

  • Demonstrated experience in tooling and process to include the ability to develop part and injection mold cost estimates, identify alternatives and their tradeoffs, manage project Schedule and lead team members on multiple concurrent injection mold replacements to completion.
  • Demonstrated experience in plastic tool design and evaluation to review mold repair requests and discern if need, cost, and duration of repairs are reasonable.
  • Demonstrated experience in project management and projects to include transfer projects.
  • Participate in commodity-level meetings with partners in Strategic Sourcing, Quality, and
  • Production to identify opportunities for improvements in tool spend and strategic partnerships with suppliers.
  • Use tool building and processing expertise to benchmark and technically evaluate production facilities or external suppliers.
  • Use processing and design expertise to work with internal engineers and external suppliers to resolve part design and manufacturability issues.
  • Resolve complex process issues, reduce variation and deploy best practices globally.

The Essentials - You Will Have:

  • Contractor toolmaker/designer with minimum 8 years of experience or equivalent knowledge in areas of plastics processing, part and tool design.
  • Mold Flow experience a plus.
  • Project Management, Global or Regional in scope, with minimum of 8 years of experience.
  • Have knowledge in new product development processes, manufacturing assembly

environments, and associated business systems.

  • Asset management to include planning, budgeting, schedules and suppliers through

implementation and product life.

  • Experience with MS Office and CAD software applications; Pro/ENGINEER & MS Project.
  • Two years of experience with an Enterprise Product Data Management (EPDM) systems,

preferably SAP

  • Communication skills in English and ability to present technical information.

TRAVEL

  • Travel may be required (25% domestic, 5-10% international)
