Bring your energy to Aggreko as a Senior Mechanical Engineer based in Dumbarton. In this role, you’ll provide sustain and design engineering expertise, supporting both new and existing mechanical systems across Aggreko’s manufactured product range.

What you’ll do as Senior Mechanical Engineer:
  • Design and develop new and existing products using established engineering principles
  • Translate product requirements into robust system and subsystem designs
  • Create technical specifications, functional design documentation and test procedures
  • Collaborate with suppliers and OEMs on component selection and system optimisation
  • Lead and contribute to design reviews in line with Aggreko’s engineering processes
  • Support manufacturing and procurement with prototype builds and Bills of Materials
  • Drive improvements in HSE performance through safe, effective design and operational guidance
You are:
  • A degree-qualified Mechanical Engineer with strong experience in the design of industrial equipment
  • Highly skilled in mechanical systems design, including analysis (thermal, stress, vibration, flow and noise) and component selection
  • Experienced in DFM/DFA and engineering drawing standards including GD&T
  • Proficient in CAD (Creo desirable) and familiar with engineering systems such as PLM (Enovia/Windchill) and MRP (M3)
  • A confident communicator with the ability to work autonomously or as part of a high-performing team
You’ll bring (desirable):
  • Chartered status (or working towards)
  • Experience in powertrain systems (engines, alternators, couplings, AVMs and mounting frames), including relevant calculations
  • Experience in cooling system design and performance validation across varied operating conditions
