We are seeking a Senior Process Engineer to join our Regional Engineering Team and provide process engineering and process safety expertise for capital projects across our manufacturing network.

The role will initially focus on resin and coating production for beverage, food and household packaging. However it will require process expertise development across multiple paint and coating segments.

Working across the full project lifecycle, from feasibility and process definition through design, commissioning and start-up, the candidate will help deliver engineering solutions that are safe, reliable, efficient and sustainable, in compliance with applicable legislation, company engineering standards, and Environmental, Health and Safety and Process Safety Management requirements.

Responsibilities
  • Provide process engineering support for regional capital projects from concept through commissioning and handover.
  • Develop and review process designs, PFDs, P&IDs, mass and energy balances, equipment specifications and engineering calculations.
  • Translate manufacturing, quality and business needs into practical, safe and sustainable engineering solutions.
  • Lead or support process-risk assessments, including HAZID, HAZOP, LOPA, hazardous-area classification and SIL verification, as applicable.
  • Support equipment selection, technical bid evaluations, commissioning, start-up and process troubleshooting.
  • Collaborate with manufacturing sites, EHS, R&D, Quality, Procurement, engineering contractors and suppliers.
  • Promote engineering standards, best practices and knowledge sharing across sites and businesses.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentoring to engineers and project teams.
Qualifications

You will bring strong chemical engineering fundamentals, practical manufacturing experience and sound technical judgement. Through collaboration and technical leadership, you will help project teams manage risk, improve manufacturing performance and embed process safety into every stage of engineering design and project delivery.

You will also support the development of standardized, innovative and sustainable solutions while strengthening process engineering capabilities across the regional organization.

Ideal Candidate

  • Degree in Chemical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
  • Approximately 5 to 8 years of relevant process engineering experience in the chemical, pharmaceutical or another regulated process-manufacturing industry.
  • Experience in chemical process design, capital-project execution and process-equipment specification.
  • Familiarity with applicable regulations and good engineering practices, such as ATEX, DSEAR, Seveso/COMAH, NFPA, API or equivalent requirements.
  • Ability to work effectively across functions, sites and cultures, with regional travel as required.
  • Fluent English; additional languages are an advantage.
  • Experience in resins, coatings, paints, polymers or specialty chemicals is desirable.
  • Willing to travel across Europe up to 40-50% of the time
