Job Description

We’re looking for a Senior Procurement Lead to join our Third Party Management and Procurement Team in London.

This role will focus on leading the Outsourcing category comprising major servicing subcategories. It's a unique opportunity to build on your entrepreneurial and commercial expertise, help deliver Wise’s mission of money without borders, and grow within a global, fast-paced listed company environment while ensuring our key deals deliver the best value for money for Wise.

Wise is a fast growing business though, so we expect that a person that will show exceptional results and behaviours would have good chances of finding another role in Wise after this fixed term.

Your mission:

Wise continues to pioneer new ways for people and businesses to send, spend, receive and manage their money across borders and currencies.

Your mission is to enable, protect, and empower the business and people of Wise by ensuring Wise’s major outsourcing deals enable our commercial objectives, flow through frictionless processes and deliver the best value for money.

Senior Procurement Lead - Outsourcing

About the Role:

  • Develop and execute long-term procurement strategies that align with Wise's business objectives. This includes conducting market analysis to stay ahead of industry trends and predict shifts in supply and demand.

  • Proactively build and maintain robust relationships with stakeholders within the organisation. Facilitate regular cross-departmental meetings to ensure alignment between procurement strategies and business objectives.

  • Lead efforts to achieve cost reductions and optimisation of spend across categories. Utilise analytical and financial skills to assess total cost of ownership and budget impact of procurement decisions.

  • Evaluate and support selection of suppliers, utilising robust criteria for quality, price, and reliability.

  • Contribute to the smooth onboarding, relationship management, and offboarding of third-party suppliers. Support initiatives to improve these processes continually, including tooling selection, implementation and improvements.

  • Help monitor and evaluate third-party relationships to ensure they provide tangible value to Wise and its customers.

  • Identify opportunities for consolidating suppliers, renegotiating contracts, or initiating new proposals (RFPs)

  • Develop and implement supplier performance metrics and scorecards, and lead initiatives for supplier improvement and innovation.

  • Assisting in the creation of  risk mitigation strategies to address supply chain disruptions. Stay informed about political and economic environments impacting supply chains and support the development of contingency plans.

  • Stay up to date on initiatives aimed at sustainable and ethical sourcing to enhance Wise's reputation and ensure compliance with relevant standards and regulations.

  • Advocate for and implement innovative procurement technologies and automation to enhance procurement processes, increase efficiency, and reduce manual tasks.

  • Mentor and develop procurement team members, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional growth.

  • Ensure all procurement activities comply with internal policies, legal requirements, and industry regulations while promoting integrity and transparency across all operations.

  • Stay abreast of industry best practices and leverage them to improve Wise's procurement processes and strategy. Encourage creative problem-solving and new procurement solutions to maximise organisational effectiveness.

This role will give you the opportunity to:

  • Choose your path to impact. You’ll take ownership from day one. Of course, you will have feedback from smart, curious people across Wise but you’ll experience unique levels of ownership and empowerment within your role.

  • Be extremely hands on. No far away leaders in Wise, and in this role you’d be expected to take on the work yourself.

  • Be part of our mission to make money without borders the new normal.

Qualifications

About you:

  • Experience in leading and developing commercial strategies within the financial services or fintech industry. Preference will be given to candidates with experience in major outsourcing services at a global scale.

  • Proven track record of delivering and exceeding commercial targets.

  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to build relationships and work collaboratively across different teams

  • Ability to advise, manage and report risks effectively, providing practical solutions to mitigate them.

  • Experience with sourcing tools, market analysis and end-to-end procurement processes.

  • Demonstrable ability to evaluate and summarise complex sourcing scenarios, communicating them in a clear and pragmatic way to different stakeholders and influencing with impact.

  • Project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously.

  • A get-it-done, collaborative approach to problem-solving.
