Reporting into our Subsurface Research Leadership, an experienced, highly motivated, innovative and performance oriented Senior Analyst is required to drive our Subsurface data analytics agenda, including the use of AI, to provide our customers with advanced workflow solutions and insights that help them to make better informed investment decisions for the Energy Transition.
Main Responsibilities
- Shape and lead the Subsurface Analytics agenda
- Drive material Subsurface revenue growth through inception and delivery of AI-driven solutions
- Build and develop a broad and deep relationship network with our customers. Engage to understand their needs and wants to drive development of our offer
- Originate and author unique, thought provoking and highly impactful written content
- Collaborate across Wood Mackenzie on Synoptic initiatives
- Drive data analytics Continuous Improvement within Subsurface and build data science driven analytics bench strength in Subsurface CoE
- Supporting the Subsurface team vision and agenda and the development of our geo-energy products and services

Qualifications and Capabilities
- BSc in a Geoscience or Reservoir Engineering discipline and a post-graduate data science degree.
- 5-10 years of relevant, professional experience in the energy sector, preferably within the Upstream Value Chain.
- Expert data analytical skills and demonstrably comprehensive and up-to-date knowledge of data analytics technology development and application.
- Deep interest in, and knowledge of, the global Energy Transition.
- Experience in external relationship building and management.
- Demonstrable commercial acumen.
- A track record in demonstrating differentiated values and behaviours.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Demonstrable curiosity with a track record of impactful innovation.
Expectations
- We are a hybrid working company and the successful applicant will be required to be physically present in the office at least 2 days per week to foster and contribute to a collaborative environment. Full-time remote working is not an option for this role.
- Due to the global nature of the team, a degree of flexible working will be required to accommodate different time zones.
