The Senior SEO Strategist at Catena Media will lead the development and implementation of the SEO strategy, focusing on technical SEO, content relevance, and link building. This role involves collaborating with stakeholders, managing team members, and conducting training on SEO best practices. The strategist will ensure partner sites meet search engine standards for trust and relevance.
The Senior SEO Strategist is responsible for planning, implementing, and managing the overall media partner SEO strategy for Catena Media. This includes, but is not limited to: content strategy, link building, keyword strategy, site health, site speed and reporting on ALL Catena partner network sites.
YOUR CHALLENGE:
- Plan, develop and implement SEO strategy and align with the business’s overall goals and objectives.
- The formulation of SEO strategies is done in conjunction with the Head of SEO and the Director of Content & Strategy to meet the company’s targets and goals.
- Develop and improve the SEO process across all three pillars:
- Technology: technical underpinnings of a website: HTML code, URL structure, HTTPS status codes, XML sitemaps, page load speed, Core Web Vitals etc.
- Relevance: content, title tags & meta descriptions, headlines, content structure, readability, topical focus, Schema, FAQ, Snippets etc.
- Expertise-Authority-Trust (E-A-T): Ensure partner sites are sending the right signals to search engines that we are trustworthy, reputable and, reliable.
- Continue to evolve the process for inbound link opportunities and link building strategies which can include content outreach and link-worthy news campaigns.
- Collaborate with stakeholders on SEO best practices, including: UX, News, internal links, backlinks, content strategy and content optimization etc.
- Lead the prioritization of page optimizations based on revenue potential, expected return, and partner ranking objectives.
- Ranking objectives will be based on existing Catena-owned sites. In some cases, a media partner site will provide the best opportunity for P1.
- Manage and mentor team members in implementation of SEO best practices and career development.
- Conduct SEO training to internal team members.
TO DO IT, YOU WILL NEED:
- At least five years of SEO / Performance Marketing experience
- Comfortable balancing shifting priorities while under deadline while maintaining an attention to detail.
- Key skills: Technical SEO, On-Page SEO, Reporting, Keyword research, data analysis.
- Requires strong familiarity with: Google Analytics, Google Search Console, keyword and link research tools (e.g., SEMRush, ahrefs, Screaming Frog)
- Experience with multiple Content Management Systems (Blox, WordPress, etc)
The Senior SEO Strategist must have at least five years of experience in SEO, or performance-based marketing experience, and a college degree.
