LOCATION(S): Edinburgh, Bristol, Halifax, & Leeds

HOURS: Full-time – 35 hours per week

ABOUT THIS OPPORTUNITY

We’re not just another bank. We’re a technology-driven organisation on a mission to shape finance as a force for good. As we continue to invest in our people, platforms, and products, we’re looking for talented Fullstack Engineers to help us build scalable, secure, and customer-centric solutions.

You’ll join a collaborative, agile team where you’ll design and develop both frontend and backend components of modern applications. You’ll work with cloud-native technologies, microservices, and CI/CD pipelines to deliver high-quality software that makes a real difference.

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING

As a Senior Software Engineer, you’ll:

  • Design, develop, test, and deploy modular applications, APIs, and services using Python, TypeScript, React, or similar technologies.

  • Build containerized applications using Docker and deploy them to Kubernetes environments.

  • Apply Domain-Driven Design (DDD) principles and Test-Driven Development (TDD) practices.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Product Owners, Architects, and Quality Engineers.

  • Integrate with third-party APIs and internal systems to deliver seamless user experiences.

  • Contribute to architectural decisions and technical governance.

  • Mentor junior engineers and support community knowledge sharing.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED

We’re looking for engineers who are adaptable, curious, and passionate about building great software. You’ll need:

Strong hands-on experience in both frontend and backend development

  • Backend: Proficiency in Python or Node.js and RESTful APIs, C#, and SQL.

  • Frontend:  React, TypeScript, HTML5, CSS3, and other modern frontend frameworks.

  • DevOps: Familiarity with CI/CD tools (GitHub, Jenkins, Harness), Docker, Kubernetes, and cloud platforms (GCP preferred).

  • Automation: Experience with automated testing frameworks (Jest, Cypress, Pact, etc.).

ABOUT WORKING FOR US

Our ambition is to be the leading UK business for diversity, equity and inclusion supporting our customers, colleagues and communities and we’re committed to creating an environment in which everyone can thrive, learn and develop.

We were one of the first major organisations to set goals on diversity in senior roles, create a menopause health package, and a dedicated Working with Cancer Initiative.

We offer reasonable workplace adjustments for colleagues with disabilities, including flexibility in office attendance, location and working patterns. And, as a Disability Confident Leader, we guarantee interviews for a fair and proportionate number of applicants who meet the minimum criteria for the role with a disability, long-term health or neurodivergent condition through the Disability Confident Scheme.

We provide reasonable adjustments throughout the recruitment process to reduce or remove barriers. Just let us know what you need.

We also offer a wide-ranging benefits package, which includes:

  • A generous pension contribution of up to 15%

  • An annual bonus award, subject to Group performance

  • Share schemes including free shares

  • Benefits you can adapt to your lifestyle, such as discounted shopping

  • 30 days’ holiday, with bank holidays on top

  • A range of wellbeing initiatives and generous parental leave policies
