The specific role you move forward with will be shaped as we progress through the interview process — allowing us to assess where your experience can have the greatest impact, with the right support around you to enable both your growth and that of the team. Our Talent Acquisition team will guide you through the details as we go.
What will I be doing?
You’ll join the Kaluza Technology community, working on the Energy Retail platform, a scalable SaaS product supporting energy retailers and decarbonisation efforts. In this role, you’ll build and maintain backend services using TypeScript, contributing to event-driven systems that power reliable, real-time features.
You’ll collaborate with product managers, designers, and engineers to deliver customer-focused solutions, while taking ownership of services from design through to production. Along the way, you’ll work with cloud technologies like AWS, optimise performance and data models, and contribute to a collaborative engineering culture.
About You
Ideally you’ll have:
- Strong experience developing backend applications, ideally with TypeScript or the ability to pick it up quickly
- A solid understanding of event-driven systems and working with queues
- Confidence working with cloud infrastructure (AWS preferred), particularly serverless technologies
- Experience with database design, optimisation, and maintenance (SQL or NoSQL)
- A passion for building high-quality software and solving real customer problems
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, with an interest in mentoring and knowledge sharing
- A proactive mindset and the ability to operate effectively in ambiguous or evolving environments
What will set you apart:
- Some exposure to frontend development, such as React
