Job DescriptionThe Business Account Experience Team is on a mission to enhance and simplify financial management and the experience for Wise’s business customers.
We build the integrations that allow businesses to seamlessly connect their accounting software with Wise, streamlining their reconciliation processes and improving financial reporting. Our work helps our business customers around the world gain better control and insight into their finances.
The team is made up of engineers distributed between London and Budapest and our ambitious roadmap for 2025-2026 includes expanding regional coverage and adoption of products, increase cross-currency volumes and reduce contact with an improved user experience.
As a Backend Engineer on our team, you will be responsible for building products and flows that have a direct impact on all of our business customers. We're looking for someone who is ready to tackle a wide range of challenges, from improving existing integrations to building new features from the ground up.
In this role, you will:
Take ownership of overhauling our core payment flows to make them faster, more scalable, and globally compliant.
Redefine the logged-in experience, transforming the homepage into a powerful, business-centric control panel that supports complex financial operations.
Build a critical new capability allowing business customers to effortlessly own and manage multiple separate accounts within our platform, solving a major pain point for our high-value clients.

Strong hands-on experience with Java (8+) and the Spring Framework.
A deep understanding of microservices and event-driven architectures.
A strong product mindset—you think about customer impact, not just technical implementation.
Strong communication skills.
Experience working closely with multiple functions (e.g., Product, Design, Analytics).
You may also have:
A background in Fintech is a plus, but not required.
Experience working in a startup environment, iterating fast while delivering value.
