If you’re excited to do meaningful work and make real impact, keep reading, this role could be the one you’ve been waiting for.

About the role:

We are looking for a talented and motivated individual contributor that is willing to go above and beyond to push our software artifacts and processes to the next level. There is much room for everyone to leave one's own footprint and solve challenges around our internal development platform and deployment artifacts, software tests and test infrastructure, monitoring and observation and multi-region setups - to name a few.

Curious about the kind of challenges you'll work on at Camunda? Watch this quick 30-minute talk from our engineers to learn more about the new Camunda Exporter and how we’re solving complex problems at scale

What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Define, implement, and document end-to-end reference blueprint architectures of recommended Camuna 8 self-managed setups for various cloud providers (AWS, GCP, Azure), complexities (single/multi-region setups), and installation methods (Helm chart in Kubernetes/OpenShift; Docker Compose, JAR in virtual machines) to make it easier for the Camunda customers to get Camunda 8 running.

  • Foster internal usage of the Camunda 8 self-managed solutions, creating internal feedback loops through dogfooding and usage

  • Create Infrastructure as Code libraries for the Camunda customers to quickly set up their cloud resources (e.g., Terraform modules, Crossplane compositions, scripts, etc.) in the cloud provider of their choice.

  • Create productivity tools to help Camunda customers debug their cloud infrastructure issues.

What You Bring:

  • 5+ years of experience in Infrastructure, DevOps, SRE, or Cloud Engineering, with a strong background in architecting production-grade environments for complex Applications on Cloud Native and Kubernetes (any distribution).

  • Proficient in at least one programming language and skilled in Infrastructure as Code tools.

  • Experience in technical writing, documenting complex systems and processes to technical and non-technical audiences.

  • Demonstrates strong technical empathy, collaborating seamlessly with technical support and consulting our customers’ setups in evaluation or troubleshooting sessions.

  • Self-driven and autonomous, you thrive without daily supervision - critical for our remote-only team - you communicate async clearly and effectively.

Nice-to-haves:

  • Proven experience running Java applications in production, with a solid understanding of performance, monitoring, and troubleshooting.

  • Background as a Technical Solutions Architect (or equivalent), with experience designing and implementing scalable, reliable solutions with state of the art practices.

  • Experience conducting evaluation or troubleshooting sessions with customers' unfamiliar or unknown setups.
