Senior Software Engineer

As a Senior Software Engineer at Werner you will have the opportunity to help lead our digital transformation while being surrounded by people who are passionate about building modern software systems that leverage the industry’s leading cloud computing technologies. Responsibilities:

• Analyze information needs, conferring with users, studying systems flow, data usage, and work processes.
• Collaborate cross-functionally within the organization to design solutions for complex business problems.
• Develop information systems by designing, developing, testing and implementing software solutions.
• Document and demonstrate solutions by developing flowcharts, layouts, diagrams, and presentations.
• Research and resolve production support issues as they occur.
• Collaborate with team members for recommendations on process improvement.
• Mentor less experienced developers in best practices, troubleshooting techniques, and development patterns.
• Accomplish engineering and organization goals by completing related tasks as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned by supervisory personnel.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s and/or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related technical discipline, or equivalent education experience.
• 7+ years of professional software development experience.
• Extensive experience in modern software development practices to draw upon for solving complex problems.
• Experience and ability to work in an agile/SAFe environment.
• Strong analytical skills to perform requirements analysis and software design.
• Ability to perform all tasks associated with the SDLC.
• Excellent communication, presentation, influencing, and reasoning skills.
• Multi-tasking skills with the ability to work in a team environment.
• Capable of building strong relationships with colleagues and key individuals within the business.
• Demonstrated ability to quickly learn and apply new technologies.
• The drive to succeed in a fast-paced environment that supports many applications and end-users.
• The desire to continuously learn and grow your skill set.
