Job description
The Team
The Core AI team is a cross-functional team composed of ML Engineers and Software Engineers. Our 2 missions are to:
- Provide internal APIs that enable product teams to significantly enhance our customers' experience by automating tasks such as product categorization, attribute extraction, description generation, content translation, and more
- Advise product teams on new features and user experience design by staying informed on AI state-of-the-art advancements and industry-leading AI-driven products.

Responsibilities
- Write robust Python code.
- Design, build, and deploy APIs to access third-party large language models and internally fine-tuned ML models.
- Reinforce, optimize, and scale our infrastructure.
- Evaluate new AI methods and models, and automate these evaluations.
- Automate model training.
- Transform proof-of-concepts (POCs) into production-ready solutions.
- Collaborate closely with Research Scientists and Product Managers within the team.
- Work with Software Engineers, Product Managers, and Designers from other teams.
- Gather, analyze, and synthesize requirements to create an effective feature roadmap.
Qualifications
- You are proficient in Python and related tooling.
- You possess strong software engineering experience with a proven track record of delivering high-quality results.
- You have strong experience in building SDKs and APIs for internal or external products.
- You are familiar with architectural patterns for large-scale software applications.
- You have experience in large-scale build, release, CI/CD, and observability practices.
- You take a pragmatic approach to software engineering best practices, drawing inspiration from the best without being dogmatic.
Preferred Qualifications
- You have an understanding of modern machine learning concepts and state-of-the-art deep learning techniques.
- You have a strong interest in and experience with the latest GenAI stack, including LLMs, RAG, and Agents/Tools.
- You have experience in designing, building, and deploying ML applications.

Interview process
- Initial Conversation: A 30-minute discussion with Marie-Anaïs, our Talent Partner, to learn more about the role and Akeneo.
- Meet the Manager: A conversation with Max, to delve deeper into the role and discuss your experience and skills.
- Technical Test: Complete a technical test at home (~3 hours), followed by a detailed discussion of your approach and solution during a technical interview (~2 hours).
