Job Description

As a Test Engineer for Rockwell Automation, you will assist with activities related to architecture, design, and development of test automation.

In this position, you will be involved in design of test automation working closely with our Product Engineers. You will become part of team developing a rigorous verification and validation program to enhance the robustness of Rockwell Automation products.

You are ideal candidate if you have experience with testing and identifying creative solutions to complex problems. We are looking for someone with knowledge regarding various software architectures, who can apply their knowledge in control systems applications.

You will report to the Test Manager and have a hybrid schedule working in Katowice, Poland.

Your Responsibilities:

  • You will design, create, execute and maintain tests and test environments.
  • You will check automated tests results and report software defects to agreed stakeholders.
  • You will make sure that team's automated and manual tests have appropriate coverage and are developed to verify quality of tested products.
  • You will support team in functional and system requirements analysis required to design and verify added and changed functionality.
  • You will debug and troubleshoot issues.
  • You will learn about network communication protocols used in Industrial Automation.
  • You will guide less experienced team members, supporting them in execution of test tasks.
  • You will monitor and evaluate testing process adopted by the team and report any inefficiencies to agreed stakeholders.
  • You will facilitate communication both within local team and remote stakeholders.

The Essentials - You Will Have:

  • 5+ years of experience on tester position.
  • Experience using any programming and scripting languages.
  • Knowledge of software process development.
  • Understanding of computer networks
  • Basic knowledge of industrial control systems.
  • Good English skills (written and verbal).

The Preferred - You Might Also Have:

  • Master`s or bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science or Electrical Engineering.
  • Knowledge of Python 3 and test frameworks.
  • Familiar with Agile development processes.
  • Knowledge of network communication (ISO / OSI model, BSD socket API). Knowledge of some network protocols in the cross section of the ISO / OSI model: Ethernet, TCP, UDP, TLS, DTLS, etc.
  • PLC programing.
