Job Description

The Opportunity

We are looking for a technically minded, growth-focused Senior Account Manager / Junior Account Director to manage and grow key B2B & B2C client relationships, drive account development, and ensure excellence in service delivery.

This role sits within our UK commercial team and is ideal for someone ready to step into a more strategic client-facing position, with a clear progression path toward Account Director.

You will work closely with Account Directors, delivery teams, and specialists to optimise client satisfaction, retention, and incremental growth across existing accounts - predominantly within Adobe Commerce and Shopify platforms, and across the areas of technology, data, and CX.

You’ll be a trusted day-to-day partner for clients, combining commercial awareness with technical understanding to help solve business challenges, pitch and deliver high-quality digital commerce solutions.

Key Responsibilities

Client Relationship & Account Management

  • Act as the day-to-day point of contact for a portfolio of clients across Retail, Luxury, Manufacturing, Telecoms & FMCG/F&B.

  • Build strong, trusted client relationships through consistent delivery and proactive communication.

  • Understand client objectives and challenges, escalating risks and opportunities appropriately.

  • Support Account Directors in maintaining high levels of client satisfaction and retention.

  • Manage client communications across projects, support, and roadmap discussions.

Technical Consulting & Client Support

  • Work closely with clients to understand platform performance and identify optimisation opportunities, primarily across Adobe Commerce and Shopify.

  • Translate client requirements into clear briefs for delivery, UX, and technology teams.

  • Ensure solutions align with both client needs and SQLI’s capabilities.

  • Contribute to account planning by identifying growth opportunities, risks, and delivery improvements.

  • Opportunity to gain exposure across other platforms including Shopify and mobile/app.

Account Growth & Commercial Support

  • Proactively identify upsell and cross-sell opportunities within existing accounts and support conversion.

  • Assist with contract renewals, commercial discussions, and scope extensions.

  • Track account performance, revenue forecasts, and delivery margins, escalating where required.

  • Support Account Directors with financial management of accounts, developing commercial confidence ahead of AD progression.

Market & Client Insight

  • Keep up to date with trends in commerce, customer experience, and digital transformation.

  • Bring relevant ideas, improvements, and best practices into client conversations.

  • Act as a strong internal advocate for the client, ensuring their needs are well represented.

New Business & Proposals

  • Support the preparation of proposals, SOWs, and pitch materials for new and existing clients.

  • Collaborate with internal teams to help shape integrated solutions across design, technology, and commerce.

  • Participate in pitches and client presentations to build confidence and exposure.

Qualifications

What you bring

This role is ideal if you have:

  • Proven experience as a Senior Account Manager, Account Manager, Business Analyst, Technical Account Manager or Client Services professional within a commerce agency, digital consultancy, or similar environment.

  • Strong working knowledge of Adobe Commerce (implementation, optimisation, or delivery environments) or Shopify as a secondary preference.

  • Commercially aware, with experience driving revenue growth, renewals, and account development.

  • Confident communicator, comfortable engaging with client stakeholders and internal teams.

  • Experience working across both T&M and fixed-price delivery models.

  • Highly organised, proactive, and solution-oriented.

  • Ambitious and motivated to progress toward an Account Director role.

  • Collaborative mindset with an interest in a human–AI-enabled approach to delivery and ways of working.

  • Experience supporting new business proposals or pitches, or a strong interest in developing this capability as part of your progression.

Bonus points

  • Experience within broader digital transformation such as AI and Data (e.g. personalisation and CDPs) or CX.

If you’re a client-focused professional who enjoys problem-solving, relationship building, and delivering high-quality commerce solutions - and you’re ready to take the next step toward Account Director - we’d love to hear from you.
