Job Summary

The Senior Technical Analyst acts as a bridge between business stakeholders, architects, and development teams, ensuring that business objectives are clearly translated into technical deliverables and that all solutions align with the overall transformation roadmap in the Claims domain (Insurance industry).

The role combines strong business analysis, technical understanding, and stakeholder management skills, supporting digital transformation initiatives across multiple Claims components (Fraud, Recoveries, Litigation, etc.).

Responsibilities and Duties

Business & Functional Analysis

  • Collaborate with Claims SMEs, Product Owners, and business stakeholders to elicit and document functional and non-functional requirements.
  • Analyze end-to-end Claims processes, identifying opportunities for automation, optimization, and data-driven decision making.
  • Support creation of epics, features, and user stories aligned with transformation goals.

Technical & Solution Analysis

  • Partner with solution and data architects to design scalable and modular components for the future Claims Workbench.
  • Translate business needs into technical specifications, data mappings, and integration requirements.
  • Ensure consistency of design across multiple components (Fraud, Recoveries, Litigation Management, etc.).

Product Backlog & Delivery Support

  • Collaborate with Product Owners to build and maintain a prioritized product backlog.
  • Define and document acceptance criteria; support sprint planning, refinement, and reviews.
  • Work with development and QA teams to ensure clear understanding of requirements and successful delivery.

Stakeholder Engagement & Communication

  • Act as a liaison between business teams, architecture, and technology delivery teams.
  • Present findings, progress, and recommendations to leadership and governance forums.
  • Support change management and the adoption of new Claims capabilities.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Based in Lisbon, Portugal
  • 5+ years of experience as a Business Analyst / Technical Analyst, ideally within Insurance (Claims domain preferred).
  • Experience with large-scale transformation or digital platform programs.
  • Strong understanding of Claims lifecycle processes (FNOL, assessment, settlement, recoveries, litigation, fraud).
  • Ability to interpret and document technical concepts (APIs, integrations, data flows, system architecture diagrams).
  • Proficiency in data analysis tools such as SQL and advanced Excel (Python is a plus).
  • Hands-on experience with Power BI or Tableau.
  • Experience working in Agile environments (Scrum, Kanban, or SAFe).
  • Proficiency in JIRA / Confluence or similar backlog management tools.
  • Excellent communication, analytical, and stakeholder management

Nice to Have

  • Familiarity with cloud-based architectures (Azure preferred).
  • Exposure to data analytics, AI, or ML use cases in Claims.
  • Previous experience with low-code/no-code platforms or workflow engines (OutSystems preferred).
  • Knowledge of regulatory and compliance requirements in the Insurance
