About this role:
Wells Fargo is seeking a Senior Technology Business Systems Consultant to join the Global Regulatory Reporting Technology (GRRT) organisation. This role plays a critical part in supporting the firm's Non-Financial Regulatory Reporting (NFRR) obligations across major global regulatory regimes, including MiFID, EMIR, SFTR, MAS, HKMA, CAD, CFTC, SEC, and the Bank of Israel.
As a senior consultant, you will serve as a key liaison between business, operations, compliance, and technology delivery teams. You will lead complex analysis, drive clarity on business and technical requirements, assess system impacts, and support the delivery of technology solutions that enhance regulatory reporting accuracy, timeliness, control, and auditability. The role requires a deep understanding of systems, processes, and data flows within a global regulatory reporting environment, along with strong communication, analytical, and delivery-management skills.
In this role, you will:
  • Lead the analysis and documentation of business and technology requirements for moderately to highly complex regulatory reporting initiatives.
  • Partner with business, compliance, operations, and engineering teams to translate regulatory reporting expectations into functional and technical requirements.
  • Evaluate system behavior, data dependencies, and end-to-end process flows to identify gaps and recommend solutions aligned with regulatory and enterprise standards.
  • Facilitate requirement walkthroughs, design discussions, and backlog refinement sessions across cross-functional teams.
  • Act as an internal consultant by applying process-engineering, workflow optimisation, and continuous-improvement practices to streamline regulatory reporting processes.
  • Support testing cycles, including defining acceptance criteria, coordinating UAT, validating functionality, and participating in defect triage.
  • Provide structure and leadership across project activities-including planning, schedule management, risk identification, and status reporting.
  • Produce detailed documentation, including business requirements, data mappings, system interaction flows, test cases, and control evidence.
  • Serve as a subject-matter resource to junior analysts and contribute to best-practice standards across the regulatory technology organisation.
Required Qualifications:
  • Experience in Business Systems Data, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
Desired Qualifications:
  • Strong understanding of capital markets products such as derivatives, securities financing transactions, equities, and fixed income.
  • Experience working with regulatory bodies (e.g., ESMA, CFTC, MAS, HKMA, SEC) or within regulatory technology functions.
  • Knowledge of data governance, data lineage, and data-quality practices in reporting ecosystems.
  • Ability to analyse data sets using SQL or similar tools to support investigations and validation.
  • Experience facilitating workshops, requirements refinement, and cross-functional design sessions.
  • Background in workflow automation, rules-based engines, or process re-engineering.
  • Strong understanding of SDLC, testing frameworks, release management, and technology controls.
  • Professional certifications such as PMP, CBAP, Scrum/Agile, FRM, CFA, or equivalent.
  • Exposure to modern data platforms, cloud technologies, or regulatory data-processing architectures.
  • Familiarity with AI-powered analysis tools, large language models, or generative AI solutions used to support requirements gathering, documentation, and process optimisation.
