About the team

The DBS Portfolio team delivers technology initiatives that support Elsevier’s core business systems. We work closely with technology, product, architecture, and operations teams to improve how systems are built, evolved, and sustained over time.

About the role:

This role focuses on leading and coordinating technology‑driven initiatives that modernise platforms and improve long‑term system health. You will provide clear delivery leadership, help teams work effectively together, and ensure progress is transparent and measurable.

  • Coordinate work across product, engineering, architecture, and infrastructure teams
  • Plan and track milestones, risks, and progress using appropriate delivery approaches
  • Lead selected complex initiatives from initiation through delivery and transition to ongoing ownership
  • Communicate progress and outcomes clearly to a range of stakeholders
  • Support a shift toward sustainable platform and application lifecycle management
Requirements:
  • Experience delivering complex, technology‑focused initiatives in collaborative environments
  • Comfort discussing topics such as cloud platforms, CI/CD pipelines, and modern delivery practices
  • Experience working at both project and programme level
  • Knowledge of delivery approaches such as Agile, Scrum, or hybrid methods, and the judgement to apply them pragmatically
  • Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills
