Job Description

Ready to make an impact on globally renowned brands like Gillette, Pampers, Head & Shoulders and Oral-B that millions of consumers can’t live without? Want to work at a company consistently recognised as one of the UK’s leading graduate employers?

Then apply for our Software Developer Internship at our P&G office in Newcastle, where you’ll play a key role in designing, building, and supporting best-in-class IT solutions. On this placement, you will be responsible for developing the front end of innovative applications. You’ll focus on creating an optimal user experience for product design, development and testing, while emphasising a data-first architecture that maximises flexibility and integrates seamlessly with essential systems.

What to Expect:

During your year-long placement you will get a first-hand experience of what a career in software development with P&G involves, and if it is right for you. You will be working on live business projects and expected to dive straight in and take the lead. During your projects you can expect to:

  • Assist in building and maintaining data pipelines and data transformation workflows using Databricks.

  • Support the development of interactive dashboards, reports, and analytics solutions using Power BI.

  • Contribute to the design and development of AI-driven solutions using Microsoft Copilot Studio and Agentic AI frameworks.

  • Participate in data engineering, analytics, and AI development projects alongside senior team members.

  • Support testing, troubleshooting, and optimisation of data.

Sounds challenging? Don’t worry – we’ll be there every step of the way. Each intern receives a customised learning plan to ensure they get the right levels of coaching, mentoring and training as they deliver their work.

What You Will Gain:

  • Responsibilities and Real Work from Day 1: You will be given specific projects and responsibilities working on real and live business challenges, just like a true P&Ger.

  • Continuous Training & Coaching: You will work with passionate people and receive both formal training as well as day-to-day mentoring from your manager.

  • Competitive Compensation & Benefits: The annual salary for this placement is £26,000. On top of this you’ll enjoy lots of benefits like the option to enrol in our pension, flexible working arrangements, and your very own ‘Flex4Me’ Fund which enables you to allocate a portion of your benefits package to the areas that matter most to you.

  • Full Time Role: Successful interns have the potential to secure a full-time position with P&G after graduation in our non-management IT track. As a 'build from within' company, our people start at entry level and progress through the organisation. When we make a job offer, it’s with the expectation that you will grow into one of our future leaders, and to help you get there, you will work closely with skilled P&G veterans for mentoring and coaching at every step.

Job Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • University students studying Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field graduating in 2028 with a placement year as part of their degree. We also welcome applications from students who are graduating in 2026, or who have already graduated.

  • Interest in leveraging IT to drive innovation.

  • Effective analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

  • Evidence of passion and achievements in academic and/or non-academic activities. Tell us what you’re proud of – be it playing a musical instrument or holding down a job alongside your studies.

  • Strong verbal and written English language skills.

Right to Work

For our placement roles, you will need to provide your own right to work in the UK for the full duration of your placement without requiring sponsorship from P&G. Note, this will require your right to work permission to be valid between 1st July 2026 to 12th June 2027 for a minimum of 37.5 hours per week.

P&G is legally required to ensure all candidates have the right to work in the UK from Day 1 of their employment. All applicants will therefore be asked to provide evidence of their right to work at the conclusion of the recruitment process as a condition of employment.

Start Date:

This is a year-long industrial placement running between 1st July 2026 until 12th June 2027 and we expect you to be available for the full duration.

Application Deadline:
