The Position 

FanDuel is hiring for a Frontend Software Engineer, with JavaScript or TypeScript experience based within one of our teams in the Account vertical who focus on acquisitions (our offer to sign-up pipeline for customers). There is an interesting element of research and development as the team investigates various offers and aims to offer further personalisation to our potential customers. 

As a software engineer, you will work in empowered, multidisciplinary teams, collaboratively tackling complex challenges that provide the very best experiences and products for a growing community of millions of players. 

Some of your responsibilities will include:  

  • Owning parts of the product and technology, striving to become a subject matter expert  
  • Writing simple and extendable code following standards and best practices, testing your own code.  
  • Helping your team evolve by engaging in the code review process, design discussions, team planning, and support ticket reviews.  
  • Taking on projects and make software enhancements that improve the team software and processes.  
  • Working to resolve the root cause of complex problems, leaving software better and easier to maintain than when you found it.  
  • Estimating stories/tasks accurately and deliver them in time. You keep yourself up to date with industry tools, utilities, and open-source frameworks.  

 

 

What We’re Looking For 

  • Experience and passion working with web libraries and frameworks, such as React and Typescript. 
  • A strong sense of ownership. 
  • Demonstrated abilities driving operational excellence and software best practices.  
  • Experience with testing concepts, test tools, and integrating testing and best practices in the SDLC. 
  • Experience writing distributed, highly scalable and available backend systems & APIs using Java or similar programming languages (would be a bonus!)

1. Recruiter Screen – 30 mins  

2. Competency Interview – 60 mins  

3. Paired Programming (JavaScript) Interview – 60 mins

We operate a hybrid model for the majority of our roles, where we normally spend a day or two in the office per week.
