Job Overview
Applied Systems, Inc., a worldwide leader in insurance technology, is currently searching for a Software Engineer to join our Integration Services Team. Integration Services are part of a customer-facing project team responsible for delivering on our customer commitments through maintaining and developing innovative software solutions. Under the direction of the Head of Technical Services, Europe, they are tasked with developing custom software solutions for Applied's customers. This development team acts on approved requests for custom solutions and develops the software to meet those requirements.
What You'll Do

  • Provide custom software solutions, database development, reports, and other data extracts
  • Develop custom high quality software solutions that meet customer business objectives
  • Improve processes related to software development and database design
  • Be accountable to the project team in meeting timelines, scope, and budget expectations
  • Work directly with customers on custom development projects or in a consultative engagement
  • Unit test programs for technical and functional accuracy
  • Participate in customer meetings during the project lifecycle
  • Demo custom solution and solicit customer feedback through sprint reviews
  • Ensure timely and accurate communication of development status to management and customers
  • Pursues a program of self-development through the use of selected reading, seminars, and participation in continuing education


What You'll Need to Succeed
We're looking for someone who:

  • Can work remotely or from hybrid an Applied Systems Europe Office
  • Has a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, MIS, or CIS, or equivalent work experience


Your experience should include some or all of the following:

  • Industry standard professional development tools (Microsoft suite is preferred)
  • API development and deployment
  • Database programming (SQL is preferred)
  • Proactive in acquiring information to develop new skills to improve job performance; grasps new material quickly and easily, and applies new information, concepts and procedures in a constructive manner.
  • Relationship management and communication skills
  • Excellent problem-solving skills; strong logical reasoning and solution oriented
  • Genuine passion for programming
  • Ability to work with others in a team-oriented environment


Additionally, you may have:

  • Experience with C#
  • Exposure to data migration processes
  • MS certification or SQL certification
