IOG’s Partner chains Tribe is an innovation project built using Substrate. It aims to simplify blockchain deployment, operation and interoperability by combining modular technology with proven security, liquidity, and reliability. Partner Chains empowers developers and validators to create optimized blockchains without network or technology stack lock-in, fostering a new era of interoperable and scalable solutions.

What the role involves:

Your primary role is to ensure the quality and reliability of software solutions by leading the testing process across various stages of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC). Employing advanced testing methodologies and collaborating closely with a cross-functional team, this position is critical in identifying software issues and improving product quality before release. The role demands a robust understanding of both the SDLC and Quality Assurance (QA) processes. Success in this position is gauged by the ability to design and execute comprehensive test plans, manage test cycles efficiently, and deliver software products that meet client expectations and enhance user satisfaction. This includes engaging in continuous improvement initiatives that drive innovation in testing strategies and techniques.

  • Collaborate with product management, project management, and development teams to define clear testing objectives.
  • Review and analyze system specifications to ensure they meet testing standards.
  • Develop detailed test conditions and scripts to cover both business and technical use cases.
  • Utilize existing tools and develop new scripts to execute test cases and validate functionality.
  • Run automated test suites and analyze results to ensure continuous improvement in software applications.
  • Participate in troubleshooting and triaging issues with cross-functional teams to identify and resolve root causes.
  • Document, track, and escalate issues as appropriate, maintaining high standards of communication and transparency.
  • Support production deployments and perform validation testing during off-hours maintenance windows.
  • Act as a technical support escalation point for critical issues reported by users.
  • Meet project deadlines by managing testing schedules effectively.
  • Deliver software that meets or exceeds quality standards and acceptance criteria through rigorous testing.

Requirements

Who you are:

  • Higher degree in computer science, engineering, mathematics, logic, physics, or a related subject (Bachelor or Above)
  • Typically 4 years’ experience in Test Engineering
  • Performance and Security testing experience would be a plus
  • Experience in test automation and setting up a new framework
  • Experience of API testing 
  • Experience in distributed systems and network would be beneficial
  • Experience working in an Agile setup (Scrum, Kanban) 
  • Experience of software engineering best practices and of testing methodologies, ideally ISTQB or ISEB certified.
  • Proficient in test automation and scripting with experience in setting up new frameworks; expertise in various libraries and tools for executing a range of tests (e.g., unit, integration, UI, performance); familiar with functional programming languages and concepts, ideally with direct experience in Rust.
  • High attention to detail with a quality orientation; strong analytical skills capable of understanding and translating complex technical issues into clear actionable items.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; ability to work autonomously with minimal supervision and collaboratively in a team setting; strong documentation skills.
  • Ability to maintain high standards in test planning, execution, and documentation, ensuring all testing processes are clear and efficient.
  • Ability to continually refine and innovate testing strategies to enhance software reliability and performance.
