Solutions Design Manager

Iron Mountain is seeking a detail-oriented Solutions Design Manager to serve as a critical interface for our Business Development teams. This role is responsible for the end-to-end design, modeling, and technical development of customized, scalable, and efficient logistics solutions, including both dedicated and shared/multi-client operations. You will utilize advanced tools and models to translate complex client data into operational blueprints and financial feasibility studies.

What You'll Do (Core Responsibilities)
  • Develop customized, scalable, and efficient logistics solutions by analyzing client data and specifications, preparing detailed designs, and creating operational blueprints for warehousing and distribution.

  • Conduct detailed technical analysis of layouts, workflows, equipment, labor planning, and resource utilization using tools like AutoCAD and simulation software to optimize efficiency and costs.

  • Ensure financial feasibility by conducting cost-benefit analyses, risk assessments, and documenting detailed assumptions that affect implementation and steady state commercial dynamics.

  • Collaborate with Project Management and internal stakeholders to ensure seamless execution and smooth transition of design plans from initial concept to steady state operation.

  • Lead solution presentations during client meetings, explaining complex concepts clearly and compellingly, and gathering feedback to ensure designs align with client expectations.

What You'll Bring (Skills & Qualifications)

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Experience in a solutions design role within contract logistics, warehousing, or a related industry.

  • Proficiency with industry standard Contract Logistics Cost Models and expertise in MOST and/or MTM methodologies.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities to design efficient, cost-effective logistics solutions.

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Engineering, Supply Chain, Logistics, or a related field.

  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) and a Client Focus to translate needs into innovative design solutions.
