What will you do?

The Corporate IT team is looking for an experienced AWS Glue, PySpark developer who will bring expertise in development, maintenance, and implementation of solutions for the corporate Actuarial area. 

The successful candidate will be responsible for development, integration, maintenance and enhancing the ETL solutions focusing on our actuarial data processing and dependent systems. 

Your scope of work / key responsibilities:

• Develop, enhance, and maintain a robust ETL solutions which can best meet the business requirements.
• Work with design lead to understand the design documents (High level design and Detailed design documents) based on business requirements and develop the solutions as per it.
• Understand the project/delivery scope, identify activities, L0/L1/L2 estimates, dependencies, risks and provide inputs to design lead for review.
• Strong ability to work with team to discuss the solution approach that is bias toward action and results.
• Performance Tuning/automation and process improvement.
• Work on the functional and technical upgrades of the application.
• Coordinate delivery of the assigned tasks with the onshore partners, scrum master or/and Business Analyst.
• Ensure timely notification and escalation of possible issues/problems, options, and recommendations for prompt resolution.
• Follow development standards to ensure that code is clear, efficient, logical, and easily maintainable.
• Create and maintain application documentation like Network diagrams, technical project handbook, technical data mapping doc, unit test documents, implementation plan.
• Ensure SLF Information Security Policies and General Computing Control is compiled to in all situations.
• Self-learner and should take complete ownership of work assignments and ensure the successful E2E delivery.
• Very good documentation skill.
• Strong analytical ability to understand user requirements.
• Very Good Communication Skill and should be able to work with a large team in Onsite – Offshore model.
• Ensure all written and verbal communication is clear, understandable and audience appropriate.

Key Qualifications and experience:

• A degree in Computer Science, related technology degree, or equivalent experience.
• Minimum 5 to 7 years of overall IT experience
• 3+ years of experience on AWS Glue/python/PySpark
• Strong knowledge of AWS Glue/PySpark, relational databases (Oracle/PostgreSQL, SQL Server).
• Good understanding of AWS data/automation services – Step functions, Lambda, SNS, SQS.

 Technical Credentials:

• Development
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to analyze business problems systematically and deliver effective right-sized solutions in a timely manner.
  • Proven analysis and design/development skills on AWS platforms.
  • Develop, Test, and Implement the changes following the Software Development Life Cycle methodologies and quality concepts.
• Technical Skills
  • Strong knowledge on AWS – Glue/python/PySpark.
  • Understanding of AWS data/automation services – Step functions, Lambda, SNS, SQS.
  • Hands-on experience in ETL projects.
  • Good knowledge of data warehousing concepts.
  • Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience in GIT code versioning tools. 
  • Strong knowledge of relational database (Oracle/PostgreSQL).
  • Good understanding of Software Development Life Cycle.
• Nice to have.
  • Working knowledge on job scheduling tools like Autosys etc.
  • Experience in working in an Agile environment.
  • Certification in AWS.
  • Experience in PowerShell/Batch scripts.
