Job Overview
The Data Engineer builds the infrastructure required for optimal extraction, transformation and loading of data from a wide variety of data sources using SQL, Azure, and AWS 'big data' technologies. The Data Engineer is responsible for identifying, designing and implementing internal process improvements such as automating manual processes, optimizing data delivery, re-designing infrastructure for greater scalability, etc.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Create and maintain optimal data pipeline architecture, visualization, analytical tools
  • Assemble large, complex data sets that meet functional/ non-functional business requirements
  • Build analytics tools that utilize the data pipeline to provide actionable insights into customer acquisition, operational efficiency and other key business performance metrics
  • Work with stakeholder teams and team management to assist with data-related technical issues and support their data infrastructure needs
  • Create data tools for analytics and data science team members that assist them in building and optimizing our product’s performance and effectiveness
  • Work with data and analytics experts to strive for greater functionality in our data systems
  • Also responsible for other Duties/Projects as assigned by business management as needed.
Education and Work Experience:
  • Bachelor's Degree Computer Science, Statistics, Informatics, Information Systems or another quantitative field, or equivalent experience (Required)
  • 2-4 years Data Engineering Required
  • Experience building and optimizing ‘big data’ data pipelines, architectures and data sets Required
  • Experience performing root cause analysis on internal and external data and processes to answer specific business questions and identify opportunities for improvement Required
  • Experience in languages such as SQL, DAX, Python, Java, Scala, and/or Go Required
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • Advanced working SQL knowledge and experience working with relational databases, query authoring (SQL) as well as working familiarity with a variety of databases (Required)
  • Ability to manage work across multiple projects, good organizational skills (Preferred)

    Base Pay Range: $105,100 - $189,600

    Corporate Bonus Target: 15%

    The pay range above is the general base pay range for a successful candidate in the role. The successful candidate’s actual pay will be based on various factors, such as work location, qualifications, and experience, so the actual starting pay will vary within this range.

    At T-Mobile, employees in regular, non-temporary roles are eligible for an annual bonus or periodic sales incentive or bonus, based on their role. Most Corporate employees are eligible for a year-end bonus based on company and/or individual performance and which is set at a percentage of the employee’s eligible earnings in the prior year. Certain positions in Customer Care are eligible for monthly bonuses based on individual and/or team performance.
