Daily Fantasy will be part of Fanatics’s Markets product group. This role focuses on the Daily Fantasy product.
Role OverviewAs a Staff Data Analyst at Fanatics Markets, you will drive the analytics function for our brand-new Daily Fantasy Sports (DFS) product. Reporting to the Director of Data for FMX, you will be a founding member of the FMX data team.
This role is ideal for a high-intensity, technically sophisticated analyst who thrives in "0-to-1" environments where infrastructure must be built from scratch. You will be a technical leader, combining strategic thinking with hands-on execution to drive growth in our key markets.
Responsibilities- Foundational Analytics: Build the initial data models and analytics infrastructure from the ground up for the newly launching DFS product.
- Experimentation & Impact: Measure the incrementality and impact of new features through rigorous experimentation and statistical modeling.
- Strategic Partnership: Act as the primary data partner for the Principal Product Manager and the CPO of FMX, providing insights that directly shape product strategy.
- Hands-on Execution: Deliver high-quality SQL queries, data modeling in dbt, and automated reporting to meet the high demand for insights across the FMX ecosystem.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with data scientists and engineers to find solutions to complex business problems and maintain the "research lab to factory floor" connection.
- Experience: A minimum of 5 years of proven experience in an analytics role, ideally within a high-growth fintech or sports betting environment.
- Technical Mastery: Strong SQL proficiency and hands-on experience with dbt for data modeling are essential.
- Tooling: Expertise in cloud data warehouses such as Snowflake or Databricks. Proficiency in Python is preferred.
- Statistical Rigor: Strong understanding of statistical concepts, multivariate testing, and experimentation frameworks.
- Communication: Ability to present complex technical insights to non-technical senior stakeholders with clarity and business context.
- Education: A degree in a relevant field such as Mathematics, Statistics, Engineering, or Computer Science.
