Job Description

We’re looking for a highly experienced Staff Product Designer to join and collaborate with our teams in the Financial Crime Squad. We’re looking for someone with 7+ years of experience in Product Design

As a Staff Product Designer you will lead projects and multiple teams across complex product areas to ensure customer safety and success while adding meaningful friction to deter fraud and scams. You will take ownership of large, ambiguous, projects and be accountable for design quality of our products and processes on the team.

This is a unique opportunity to create impact through an initiative that touches all areas of the Wise product. You will start from first principles to solve customer problems with insight and innovation. This role requires humility, curiosity, collaboration, craft, and drive.

You’ll contribute to the mission by:

  • Starting from first principles to design experiences to increase customer safety and deter bad actors

  • Building safeguards that ensure customer awareness and safety

  • Using your full range of product design and service design skills to discover, design, and deliver simple crafted experiences that prevent issues from arising and offer simple resolution paths when they do arise.

  • Building influence and collaboration across multiple squads and teams, increasing customer-centricity, creativity, and design quality.

This role will give you the opportunity to:

  • Ship work you’re proud of. Craft experiences that are innovative, easy to use and clear.

  • Own your impact. Product teams decide what opportunities to work on, and define their success metrics.

  • Elevate product quality. You define what ‘good’ looks like to your team. And you help deliver it.

  • Be part of a positive change in the world. We’re fixing a broken, greedy system, and putting people and businesses in control of their money.

A bit about you:

  • You have 7+ years of experience as a Product Designer, championing customer-first design initiatives, backed up by clear success metrics

  • You’ve got a portfolio of well-crafted, impactful work that solves real problems for real people.

  • Your default mode is active curiosity, and when presented with a new problem you seek to understand it from multiple perspectives.

  • You break problems down into their most fundamental building blocks, challenging assumptions and developing solutions based on deep empathy and compassion

  • You default to prototyping when exploring and presenting your work.

  • You’ve worked with design systems to produce beautiful and functional design at scale.

What We Do

We’re making a positive, irreversible change in the world of finance. Together.

People on every continent around the world are choosing Wise to help them live, travel and work internationally. We’re the fairest, easiest way to send money overseas.

Built by and for people who live global lives, we make sending money abroad up to 8 times cheaper than the bank. This is money without borders - instant, convenient, transparent and eventually free.

For our customers, using Wise is as simple as sending money from A to B, but behind our app and website is a complex engine of currencies and routes, that’s being designed, built and powered by our talented teams in cities around the world.

We’re just at the beginning of our story and we’re growing at an incredible pace. We won’t stop until anyone, anywhere can send, spend and receive money wherever they are, whatever they’re doing. There’s still heaps to do and we can’t do it alone.

Why Work With Us

We are a mission-driven company, looking to change banking for the better. Current banking systems don’t let us send, spend or receive money across borders easily. Or quickly. Or cheaply. So, we’re building a new one. If you're looking for an autonomous work environment, where you'll face cool challenges, learn and grow, you'll like working at Wise
