We are looking for a Staff Engineer to join our Event Platform Storage team. Our Event Platform ingests, transforms and stores events to provide more than 30 Datadog products data retrieved by a query API at a rate of ~15 Million messages/second. With a focus on a high-level of reliability, you will contribute to a platform using Java, Go and Rust.

What You’ll Do:
- Build and operate distributed, high-throughput, real-time data pipelines
- Do it in Go and Java, with bits of Python or other languages
- Use Kafka, Kubernetes, FoundationDB, and other open-source components
- Own meaningful parts of our service, have an impact, grow with the company
- Design and architecture the more effective data pipeline using modern architecture
- Write a significant amount of code, lead architectural decisions for new and existing services
Who You Are:
- BS/MS/PhD in Computer Sci/Eng, Math, Physics or equivalent STEM field
- Experience with one or more programing languages (Go, Java, Rust, C++, Python)
- Experience building storage engines, datastores and/or high scale Distributed Systems
- Desire to work in a fast paced, high-growth tech first environment
