Job Description
What you get to do in this role:
- Build and maintain robust software systems using Python, Go or Java.
- Apply deep knowledge of software design patterns, data structures, algorithms, and testing methodologies to deliver scalable, high-quality solutions.
- Lead and optimize CI/CD pipelines using GitLab CI, GitHub Actions, Jenkins, and Infrastructure as Code tools like Terraform and Ansible.
- Automate deployments and manage releases, including rollback strategies and progressive delivery techniques such as canary and blue-green deployments.
- Design and secure containerized applications using Docker or Podman, leveraging multi-stage builds, image scanning, and service mesh technologies like Envoy.
- Solve complex networking challenges across TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP/HTTPS, and routing protocols such as BGP and OSPF.
- Troubleshoot and optimize network performance using tools like Wireshark, curl, dig, and manage load balancing with NGINX, Envoy, F5, and cloud-native solutions.
- Integrate programmable infrastructure and network automation into modern DevOps workflows.
Qualifications
To be successful in this role you have:
- 5+ years of software development experience with proficiency in at least two programming languages (Python, Go, Java) including understanding of software design patterns, data structures, algorithms, and testing methodologies
- Expert-level CI/CD and Infrastructure as Code experience using GitLab CI, GitHub Actions, Jenkins, Terraform, Ansible, with hands-on deployment automation, release management, and rollback strategies
- Deep containerization expertise with Docker/Podman including multi-stage builds, security scanning, optimization, and service mesh technologies (Envoy) for microservices communication
- Solid TCP/IP networking foundation including IPv4/IPv6, DNS, HTTP/HTTPS protocols, routing protocols (BGP, OSPF), and network security concepts (firewalls, VPNs, TLS/SSL)
- Practical load balancing and network troubleshooting experience with NGINX, Envoy, F5, cloud load balancers, plus proficiency using Wireshark, curl, dig, and network debugging utilities
- Network automation and programmable infrastructure familiarity with experience integrating network components into modern DevOps workflows
- Cloud platform expertise with hands-on experience in at least one major platform (AWS, Azure, GCP) including compute, storage, networking services, cost management, and multi-environment strategies
- Comprehensive monitoring and observability skills using Prometheus, Grafana, Splunk, ELK stack for metrics collection, alerting, log aggregation, and distributed systems correlation
- Chaos engineering and reliability practices with knowledge of testing principles, change management processes, and feature flag/toggle implementations
- Experience with modern deployment patterns including progressive delivery techniques (canary deployments, blue-green, A/B testing) and cloud-native observability
