Boeing Defence United Kingdom LimitedThis position is as a Supply Chain Specialist and part of the on-site C-17 International Field Services Team supporting the Royal Air Force customer at RAF Brize Norton. The Boeing Team at RAF Brize Norton is a vital part of the support that we provide the Royal Air Force Customer. We have a large team of employees who work directly for and with the C-17 operational team, providing real-time, time critical and dynamic assistance at the point of delivery. This is a Team at the vanguard, and we are offering an opportunity for you to join that Team, the successful applicant will be part of the liaison between the Royal Air Force Customer and the various Boeing and US Government Agencies involved in supporting the C-17 worldwide fleet.
Representative Major Tasks include:
Provide retail supply operations and local manufacture co-ordination support embedded in the planning team at the Main Operating Base (MOB) sufficient to reliably sustain the operation. To include but not limited to:
- Use of applications such as GOLDEsp, WoW, MJDI, PUBLOG, Haystack, C17 Technical Orders, cargo tracking and Microsoft Office suite.
- Manage and oversee all Local Manufacturer supply support requests related to the C-17 fleet, ensuring compliance with technical specifications and operational timelines.
- Act as the primary point of contact with Boeing Engineering to explore and implement viable Local Manufacture solutions, ensuring alignment with engineering standards and aircraft requirements.
- Work collaboratively with various internal and external agencies to coordinate manufacturing efforts, resolve technical challenges, and streamline workflows.
- Ensure timely communication with relevant personnel when Local manufacture components are completed and ready for installation on aircraft.
- Attend maintenance input and coordination meetings to identify and raise any issues related to locally manufactured spares, ensuring readiness ahead of scheduled work.
- Maintain proactive and clear communication with engineering teams, supply chain personnel, and documentation controllers to ensure alignment on local manufacture requirements, delivery timelines, and documentation accuracy.
- AOG supply support co-ordination locally and globally.
- Provide demand and requisition status for all C-17 unique managed parts and customer owned parts defined by the customer.
- Co-ordinate Stock, Store and Issue of all C-17 unique managed and RAF owned material such as part sourced from the Defence Logistics Agency, Air Mobility Command, repairables, consumables and Hazardous Fuels, Lubricants and Associated Products (FLAP) with warehouse team.
- Support periodic Boeing, Customer, and Regulatory quality and safety audits.
- This service coverage will be a DAYS working pattern Mon-Fri.
Education and Experience:
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
- Essential RAF or MOD engineering background.
- Knowledge of aviation regulatory frameworks and airworthiness standards.
- Engineering experience with C-17 or similar aircraft platforms.
- Usage of C-17 or similar aircraft platforms Technical Orders/Illustrated Parts Breakdown.
- Prior experience working with Local Manufacture requests or bespoke component manufacturing.
- Active UK Driving License is essential.
- An active UK Security Clearance (at Secret) or the ability and willingness to undertake a clearance process.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: ( NICE TO HAVE):
- Ideally you will have a working knowledge of the GOLDEsp supply application, Warehouse on Web supply application, Management of the Joint Deployed Inventory application, PUBLOG/HAYSTACK part research applications, cargo tracking and Foreign Military Sales (FMS) supply processes.
- Microsoft excel advanced skills.
This position requires the ability to obtain a UK security Clearance for which the UK Government requires UK residency. The successful candidate will hold, or have the ability to obtain, Security Clearance (SC).
