Join us as a Sustainability Disclosures Business Analyst

  • Join the Sustainability workstream within Finance Change to prepare the bank for formal UK Sustainability Reporting Standards (SRS) reporting
  • Take on a critical role defining and realising fantastic solutions, processes, benefits, and new opportunities to deliver to our stakeholders

  • We offer a hybrid way of working where you'll spend at least two days per week in the office, with the rest of your time working from home
What you'll do

In your new role, you’ll be working on the Sustainability UK SRS workstream to close identified gaps against ISSB and CSRD standards, integrating materiality into bank-wide frameworks and undertaking data discovery and stakeholder engagement. You'll be managing the analysis of complex cross-franchise and pan-bank requirements, while capturing, validating, and documenting business and system requirements, and making sure that they are in line with key strategic principles. In the course of your work, we’ll also look to you to build, manage, and maintain a positive working relationship with stakeholders and third-party suppliers across multiple franchises and functions.

You’ll also:

  • Interpret and communicate changes and developments to sustainability disclosure regulations and standards, with a particular focus on those which impact NatWest Group’s EU-based subsidiary climate and sustainability-related disclosures
  • Analyse complex and changing sustainability regulations, and prepare approaches, break down work, and finalise deliveries to achieve regulatory compliance
  • Use agile project management tools on a daily basis, including Jira and Confluence, along with Scrum or Kanban delivery methodologies
  • Demonstrate commitment to continuous improvement activity, and be comfortable seeking opportunities to constructively challenge inefficiencies and experiment with technology solutions
  • Create and maintain documentation, as well as support controls and quality assurance for key stakeholders and suppliers
  • Trace and link business requirements to future state design
  • Facilitate user acceptance testing and support business users in executing user acceptance testing
The skills you'll need

You’ll need to hold an appropriate business analyst certification, such as BAX, CPRE, or CBAP. Additionally, you’ll have an analytical mindset, with strong organisational skills and the ability to prioritise your work. You’ll have a proven track record of AI tooling use in your current or previous roles, as you'll be expected to use NatWest’s own cutting-edge AI tools to as part of this role.   

You’ll also need:

  • Experience of sustainability or climate-related reporting, such as TCFD, ISSB, CSRD, or ESG regulatory disclosures within financial services
  • Experience of regulatory reporting within Finance, and a proven track record of analysing and understanding complex regulations and delivering to mandatory timelines
  • Experience of working with finance systems or non-financial ledgers within a banking context
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to clearly and succinctly articulate complex issues to senior management
  • A proven track record of using agile project management tools such as Jira and Confluence, and experience of following Scrum or Kanban delivery methodologies
  • Experience of applying business analysis tools and techniques
  • A background of delivering business analysis in a technology or IT function
  • Strong stakeholder management skills
