Boeing Defense Space and Intelligence (BDS) is seeking a motivated and experienced Senior Systems Engineer to support our team in Ridley Park, PA.
Boeing Defense, Space and Security (BDS) seeks a Senior Systems Engineer to join the Philadelphia Design Center (PDC) in Ridley Park, PA. Our team is focused on designing and supporting a wide range of new and legacy Boeing products across the enterprise including Vertical Lift Programs, Commercial Aircraft, Fixed Wing Fighters, Satellites, Space Launch Systems, and many others. Position Responsibilities:
  • Applies an interdisciplinary, collaborative approach to plan, design, develop and verify complex lifecycle balanced system of systems and system solutions.
  • Evaluates customer/operational needs to define and coordinate system performance requirements, integrate technical parameters and assure compatibility of all physical, functional and program interfaces.
  • Performs various analyses to optimize total system of systems and/or system architecture.
  • Performs analyses for affordability, safety, reliability, maintainability, testability, human systems integration, survivability, vulnerability, susceptibility, system security, regulatory, certification, product assurance and other specialties quality factors into a preferred configuration to ensure mission success.
  • Develops, maintains and identifies improvements for the planning, organization, implementation and monitoring of requirements management processes, tools, risk, issues, opportunity management and technology readiness assessment processes.
  • Resolves cross-functional technical issues.
  • Must demonstrate the ability to communicate well and work within a team environment with first time quality.

This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.
This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. An interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills & Experience): (See education & experience below)
  • Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science.
  • 5+ years of engineering experience.
  • 1+ years of experience with requirements management tools (DOORS, etc.).
  • Must demonstrate the ability to communicate well and work within a team environment with first time quality.

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills & Experience):
  • Systems Engineering experience or education.
  • Experience with Model-Based Systems Engineering tools and techniques (Cameo/MSOSA, Rhapsody, etc.).
  • Experience in technical leadership roles.
  • Experience working across organizations and cross-functional groups to ensure project coordination, implementation and completion is desired.
  • Experience mentoring and training other engineers.

Typical Education/Experience:
Level 4
Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), computer science, engineering data science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 9 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience or non-US equivalent qualifications.

Pay & Benefits:

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.
Summary pay range (Level 4): $146,200 - $197,800
