Job Description
About this Opportunity
Lead the technical evolution of our process automation strategy within a hub and spoke delivery model. You will act as a consultant and creator, bridging the gap between stable, rule-based RPA and flexible, agentic workflows. Success in this role requires a strong analytical mindset to intuitively determine when a process demands the deterministic precision of traditional RPA and when it benefits from the cognitive reasoning of an AI agent. Using advanced Blue Prism and Power Automate capabilities, you will design and deploy solutions that tangibly augment business unit operations and solve complex operational challenges.
WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING
Evaluate business requirements to determine the most effective architecture. Select the appropriate approach from deterministic RPA, probabilistic AI agents, or a hybrid model.
Design and build automations that integrate traditional bot execution with agentic reasoning to solve multi-layered operational problems.
Utilise Large Language Models and orchestration tools to build agents capable of managing unstructured data and making informed decisions within defined guardrails.
Ensure core rule-based automations remain robust, efficient, and aligned with the standards set by the Centre of Excellence.
Partner with stakeholders to identify high-impact automation opportunities and translate complex technical options into clear business benefits.
What you’ll need
Deep technical proficiency in Power Automate and Blue Prism, leveraging traditional RPA features alongside their newer AI and agent-building modules.
A proven ability to analyse business processes and identify the correct application of rigid rule-based bots versus adaptive AI agents, supported by a clear commercial and technical rationale.
Practical experience building workflows involving agent memory, tool-calling, and prompt engineering to handle complex reasoning and unstructured inputs.
The skill to collaborate directly with business users, understand their operational bottlenecks, and design solutions that directly improve their workflows.
A strong understanding of how to structure data for automation and monitor for logic drift in probabilistic systems to ensure long-term solution accuracy.
An engineering-focused mindset and experience with modern languages - ideally Python - will further strengthen your impact in this role.
